Chapter 9
Bradley
“That shirt really matches the stick upyour ass, but I’d imagined you going out in something less…asshole chic.”
I didn’t even bother to aim, I just threwmy shoe in the general direction of Austin’s voice. He’d been stretched out onmy bed like a queen on his throne as I’d gotten ready for my date with Simon. Ihadn’t needed the help, but he’d shown up anyway like he was doing me a favor.
Judging by the giggles, I missed.
“Simon didn’t seem to have a problem withthe way I was dressed the other day.” He’d seemed to enjoy the way I’d slowlyunbuttoned my shirt. But thinking about that would give me a hard-on, so Ipushed it to the back of my head.
The drama queen snorted. “He was toodistracted by seeing you naked and all sexy subby to have an opinion on yourclothes.”
Possibly, but he’d spent a lot of timefocused on getting to know me and not just my dick, so I didn’t think that waslikely.
“He spoke to me just fine when we werenaked.” Playing with the neckline of the button-down shirt, I tried to decideif I was going to put a tie on or not. “We spent a lot of time relaxing andgetting to know each other.”
He barked out a laugh. “You mean, after thesexiest jerk-off session ever?”
“Asshole.” Refusing to look in hisdirection, I nodded. “But yes.”
We’d been careful at the previous poolparty. Shane, Silas, and even Jonah’s men hadn’t expected or even seemed toimagine anything sexy happening. Just the idea of everyone getting naked hadmade Shane’s eyes bug out.
We were all pretty sure Silas would takeeverything in stride no matter what happened, but no one had been willing topush it. No one until Simon.
“That was the most fun we’ve had in ages.”Austin’s voice had such a big smile in it that I finally turned back to him. Hewas stretched out spread eagle on the bed with a big smile on his face. “Ican’t wait for the club to open.”
“Silas was okay with it?” We hadn’t reallydone anything too crazy.
Fuck. The most outrageous part was probablyWade and Dakota jerking off, but they’d both looked more relaxed afterward thanthey had in years, so I was counting it as therapy. I just wasn’t sure howeveryone else had processed it.
The rest of the afternoon had been relaxingand filled with laughter and endless chatter from Austin. We’d talked about theclub and everyone’s work. It’d been nice. But just because everyone seemed happyin the moment didn’t mean they’d stay that way.
Austin sighed happily. “I got a wonderfulspanking afterward for not telling Silas that we’d all fooled around a littlein the past. It was the perfect way to end the day.”
Laughing, I shook my head. “Why did youhide that from him?”
Austin sat up and shrugged. “It never came up.We talked about bad dates and things like that, but he never asked about youguys.”
“What do you think Shane said later?” We’dall been so busy over the last couple of days that we’d just talked a few timesin passing.
Austin grinned. “I brought him coffee anddonuts this morning at an ungodly hour to bribe that out of him. EvidentlyShane was surprised but turned on, and in the end, hot sex but no drama.”
Then he giggled. “Russ is probably going toblush every time he sees us for a long time, though, according to Jonah.”
“Is Jonah really sure he’s going to be finewhen the club opens?” That man was one of the strangest alphas I’d ever met.
Austin nodded. “That’s what he says, but Idon’t know. Jonah keeps insisting that once we’re in a club, he’ll be fine.”
I snorted, not bothering to hide myfeelings. “At least he’s not trying to talk Jonah out of owning the club oranything like that.”
“He’s still very supportive and he’s doinga great job at the site, so I wouldn’t worry.” Austin hopped off the bed, grinning. “They seem really good together and he just wants Jonah happy. They’re so cute.”
Cute wasn’t how I’d describe them, but Iguessed it fit.
“I’m just glad it’s working out for them.”Two alphas weren’t what I’d have picked out for him, but Jonah needed more thanjust the occasional scene, so it was perfect for him.
Austin danced over and started smoothingout my shirt. “And I’m glad it’s working out for you.”
