Raelyn: Hey brat! Wanna come over for dinner and game night tonight?

Olivia: Are you sure I’m the brat here? If I remember correctly, I wasn’t the one hiding things from their best friend .

Raelyn: Okay okay, so maybe I’m a little bratty too. That’s besides the point.

Raelyn: Do you want to come over tonight or not? Daddy is gonna order pizza and I think Uncle M might join us too.

Her heart raced at the thought of seeing Miles again. She wanted that, but still remembered that she needed to be careful about getting attached to him.

Olivia: Sure! I’ll be there as long as we get to play a round of CandyLand. You know that it’s my favorite.

Raelyn: I’m sure we can convince them of that. I’m excited to see my bestie tonight. Be here at six?

Olivia: Sounds good, I’ll see you then.

Raelyn: you!

Olivia: Love you too girly!

Olivia grinned before moving on to the next message tapping Miles name.

Miles: Where did you go babygirl?

Miles: Are you there?

Oops, guess she took longer to respond than she thought.

Olivia: Yes! Sorry, I’m here. I got sidetracked.

Olivia: I haven’t done much. Laid in bed and read some more of the book I started a few days ago.

Miles: Oh? What book are you reading, Little one?

She thought for a moment and considered how she would answer his question. Admitting that she was reading Wolf by Kate Oliver would be telling him that she enjoyed reading those kinds of topics.

Olivia knew that he was a Daddy and would understand, but she didn’t know if she was ready to out herself like that.

Deciding to play it safe for now, she listed off a generic title and hoped he wouldn’t push any farther.

CHAPTER SIX

MILES

Miles was excited for game night at Emmett’s place tonight. He didn’t always get to make it, but when he did it was always a blast to hang out with his best friend and his Little girl. Raelyn could be a handful at times, but she always brought a source of entertainment.

Making a mental note to stop at the store on the way to grab some candy for both girls, Miles continued to work on the spreadsheets computer display in front of him. Most of the time he enjoyed being the CEO of Tech Port, but today isn’t that day.

It wasn’t that long ago that Emmett had to make the decision to lay off some people, so that meant everyone else was pitching in to help pick up the slack that was left behind.

He wanted to make sure that it was all done so the weekend would be free for him to do whatever he wanted.

He’s hoping that he can convince Liv to go out on another date or maybe spend a day with him.

He would love the chance to see her Little, but he had a feeling it would take a lot of coaching to bring her out.

Before he knew it, the clock read five p.m. Shutting down his computer, Miles slipped his jacket back on, grabbed his phone, and headed out of his office. Knocking on Emmett’s door he took a step into the office.

“Hey man! Game night at six?”
