At the same time, a single thought echoed in Storm’s mind:Olson, you’ve missed his heat completely.

And it wasn’t going to last beyond today, not with how much come he had put in Linus’ belly.

I’m not going to volunteer that information. Olson would shoot me in the eye.

At a loss, Storm watched as Olson headed to Linus’ fridge, opening it.

Olson frowned. “Why is there so much food in here?”

Ah, crap.Storm had two options: Flee and let Linus handle all the questioning, or own up, and let Olson interrogate him instead.

But really, there was only one conceivable option if Storm wanted to stick around in Linus’ life.

“Me. I made him some food.”

Olson turned very, very slowly to pin Storm with his stare. “You? You made all this food just now?”

“Uh, the other day.” Storm fidgeted. The clothes were growing heavier in his hands; he had to get them to Linus before his office hours began.

Olson closed the fridge, a hint of danger in his eyes. “What are your intentions toward him?”

This question was easy. “To protect him.”

Rex nodded. “Storm is good alpha.”

But Olson narrowed his eyes. “How are you going to protect him if you’re only seeing him occasionally?”

Ah, fuck.

Hesitantly, Storm asked, “Has he... told you anything about me?”

“No.” Olson looked hurt. “What do I need to know?”

Storm itched to send Linus a warning text, but his priority was to get out of this situation ASAP without making things worse for his omega. “Okay, so, uh. I started something with him, very recently. I’m—courting him.”

“But Storm live here,” Rex said helpfully.

Because Storm hadn’t told Rex to keepthata secret from his omega.

Fuck, fuck, fuck.Storm wanted to sink through the floorboards.

Olson’s stare could’ve burned holes through him. “You live here?”

“Uh. Kind of. Sometimes. Maybe? I visit.” Storm tried to smile but it came out as a grimace. “To keep him safe!”

“And how do I know you’re not hurting him?” Olson growled.

“You can ask him,” Storm said uneasily. The way things were going, Olson would probably convince Linus to kick him out. Hell, if a different alpha were to do the same things Storm had done,Stormwould convince Linus to kick him out. “I’ve been making sure he has enough to eat, and that he gets to work safe. I gave him meds when he wasn’t feeling well.”

Olson frowned. “He wasn’t feeling well?”

“Yeah, last week.”

The omega sighed. “He didn’t tell me any of this.”

“Maybe he was feeling self-conscious about it,” Storm said. “Or he didn’t want to worry you. You guys should probably talk, but don’t be too hard on him, okay?”

Olson scowled, but at least he wasn’t threatening Storm with a knife.
