“Oh, that feels good. Yeah, it was. What time are we heading to the Belladonna?”
“In a couple of hours. We’re meeting everyone for dinner and then we’ll go from there. Leo was saying there are a couple of new rooms. Maybe we’ll check those out. But first, care to join me for a hot shower?”
“Are you saying I stink?” I gasped playfully.
Alistair laughed as he picked me up from my chair and put me over his shoulder in the best fireman impersonation. “I see someone needs a reminder that she’s perfect and could never simply ‘stink’.”
Once we were in our bedroom he set me on my feet, chuckling at my red face. Wrapping me up in his arms he placed kisses on my cheeks, on my nose, and finally on my lips. I could lose myself to his kisses, and did, regularly. Sighing happily I wrapped my arms around his neck. “How did I get so lucky?”
“I’m the lucky one, kitten. I was going to wait to do this later on tonight but I just can’t.”
Before I knew it he was on one knee in front of me. “What are you doing?” I asked nervously.
“Perie, I love you more every day you are in my life. Make me the happiest man on this earth and marry me as soon as possible. Please?” His voice was husky and filled with emotion.
Blinking, my mind whirled with thoughts left and right. One look in his eyes that glowed with his love for me and all the noise quietened. I loved this man with my whole being. “Yes! Absolutely, yes!” I exclaimed as he stood up and wrapped his arms around me, spinning me in his joy.
He cried out to the universe, “She said yes!”
I laughed at his contagious joy before I planted kisses all over his face and captured his lips. This was my man now and always. Together we would have everything we could want for as long as we were on this earth. I didn’t need to hope or search for love anymore. I had it with the most perfect man I could imagine.
