“Right,” he drawled. “We’ll see how that goes.”
“What are you going to do tonight?”
Easy shrugged. “I planned on dinner and fucking you, but I’ll push that back a couple of hours and just grab some dinner with the guys.”
“Easy,” I gasped. “Did you have to say that so loudly?”
He leaned into me and hooked his hand behind my neck. He pulled me close and pressed a soft, sweet kiss to my lips. “Or, if you got any empty broom closets around here, we could do that fucking right now?”
My jaw dropped, and my eyes darted around to make sure no one was around. “You are a naughty man, Easy.” I licked my lips and lowered my voice. “And as much as I would love to take you up on that offer, I can’t. I need to do my final rounds and finish my paperwork before the next shirt comes in.”
“Raincheck, Doc.”
“Raincheck,” I promised.
“Later.”
I flopped back on my chair and watched Easy saunter down the hallway and press the button for the elevator.
My God, that man was amazing.
I was worried he might be irritated that I was going to girl’s night, but he didn’t seem to care.
Yeah, Easy was perfect.
And he was mine.
Chapter Twenty-Seven
Easy
“How in the hell does this douchebag have his own parking spot with his name on it?” Hero kicked the sign and frowned.
“Birdie has one, too,” Snapper called. “I would be pissed if I was her because he’s closer to the door than hers.”
We were hanging out in the parking garage of Rockton General, waiting for Dr. Aaron Gibbs to report for work.
At least...try to report for work.
Something told me he wasn’t going to make it through the door.
Luna had set the ball into motion to get the girls at the clubhouse for a girl’s night, and Greta did the rest by making sure Birdie was there, too.
“You’re sure he works tonight?” King asked.
Dad nodded. “Yup. He’ll be here in five minutes. He’s a creature of habit, man. Six fifty on the dot, he’ll roll in and park right here.”
And that was why you would never catch me doing the same thing all of the time. It made you vulnerable.
“Let’s get in place. We don’t want the asshole to show up early, and we’re just hanging out.” King nodded to Hero. “Pie has eyes on the entrance?”
Hero pressed the button on his walkie-talkie. “How’s it looking down there, Pie?” he called.
“All clear. Got a couple of cars coming in, but none are him,” Pie replied.
“All right. Remember the plan. Grab and go.” King motioned for everyone to get into place. “Get him in the van, Easy, and we’ll head out.”
Hero handed me the walkie-talkie and smiled. “Good luck, brother. You know we love this shit.”
