“Dominic!” Rick barked out.

“I know exactly what I’m talking about you motherfucker,” Branson snarled. “That man has bent over backward for you and your fucking family, and where has it gotten him! Nowhere! Just a trip to jail, a record, and a family that pretends to care about him.”

Dominic reacted faster than she could have thought. One second, he was standing there, the next his hand moved and there was a gun.

Straight out in front of him, pointed right at Branson.

Danny stood up so fast that the chair behind him clattered to the ground, as Rick shouted at Dominic.

“What the fuck!”

Branson didn’t even flinch.

She felt as if she was about to blow. She gritted her teeth harder holding it in.

This wasn’t helping Mark!

“I’m going to tell you one more time, to shut the fuck up!” Dominic snarled.

“Make me,” Branson snarled right back, not about to back down.

That was when she lost it.

This wasn’t about Mark anymore.

It was about them and their fucked up petty family issues.

Issues that didn’t matter one fucking bit.

The anger in her veins burned like lava as she stepped out in front of Branson, Dominic’s gun right at her nose.

“Fuck!” Danny shouted, jumping forward. But she held her hand out.

“Stop,” she said.

Dominic didn’t lower the gun. His head twisted to the side, as his eyes narrowed.

Dominic could shoot her for all she cared.

No one else was going to suffer because of this family’s fucked up problems.

“God fucking damn it! Dominic, lower the fucking gun!” Rick charged up, as Branson moved.

Fast.

Dominic turned his head toward Rick slightly, as Branson reached out and snapped the gun.

Flipping it over in a move that she had only seen in movies.

“FUCK!” Danny shouted this time as he and Rick went for Dominic, one on each side, holing him back as Branson twisted her, and pointed the gun right at Dominic.

“You motherfu—” Dominic seethed. Branson let the gun drop and pulled the trigger.

The boom sounding through the house was still echoing in her ears several seconds later, as they all stood there in shock.

Branson threw his arm out, the gun clattering to the floor as it slid away from them.

“Get the fuck out!” Dominic seethed.
