“You want to what?” Mark growled.
In the last week she would have thought that Mark would have loosened up when itcame to her being around the other guys. But if anything, it had gotten worse.
He was constantly on guard.
And heaven help them all if someone looked at her wrong.
Danny had gotten more than a few sore ribs from cracking a joke about her body.
Part of it was stress.
They were all on edge. Knowing that there was someone out there hiring men to take them out. It put all of them on alert.
Branson had been trying to stay out of it.
But even he was worried.
Dominic wanted for them to head home. She couldn’t blame him, he wanted to be with Alice. It said a lot for him to be here when Alice was only a few months out from giving birth.
Rick hadn’t said anything, but she knew the same thing was true for him as well. Christine wasn’t as far along as Alice, but she too was pregnant.
They all wanted to go home.
And she felt bad that the men were here with her and Mark, and not enjoying their wives being pregnant.
Mark was unsure though.
“I think it would be good to get her in the ring man,” Rick said.
“She doesn’t need to learn how to fight.” Mark scowled at him, then sat back with a huff, pulling her into him.
Rick gave her a look then turned back to Mark.
“Listen, beyond the fact that it’s always good to know that your woman can handle herself, it might help her with some other things.”
“I don’t want her in the ring with you.”
“Why not?” she asked.
“You are not getting in the ring with another guy,” he muttered, glaring at her, and she recognized the glint in his eyes.
“Mark, he has a wife,” she said in exasperation.
“Doesn’t matter.”
“Man, I don’t want your girl.” Rick threw his hands into the air.
