“You didn't! You've shagged him!” She says it way louder than I would have liked. I quickly look at the guys; they're oblivious and too far away for the sound to carry across the noisy pub.

 “Mia, keep your voice down.”

“I knew it. I knew you wouldn’t be able to resist - I mean, Jesus, look at him; he’s like a walking billboard for a bad biker magazine or something. How long did you hold off?”

 Well, this is embarrassing...

 “I don't wanna say.”

“Have you shagged him more than once?”

Er, only about a hundred times. “Maybe...”

Robyn speaks with a grin, “I knew when you walked in here that you guys looked way too comfortable with each other.”

I sigh. “I couldn't help it, you've seen him, right? And...there’s other stuff, things that brought us closer together that I won't go into, but yeah, wemayhave a sex only agreement.”

“Hmmm, and while I'm sure that is as fun as it sounds, are you sure you're not falling for him?”

“What? No way, it’s only sex. We are scratching each other's physical itch, that’s all.”

“He could scratch my itch anytime he wanted.” Mia nudges Robyn.

 “Too bad - he’s claimed.” I snap.

Robyn's eyes widen, and I catch her shooting Mia a look. “Hmm, she’s a little possessive over him Mia, don't you think?”

“No, I'm not, it's just, he wouldn't be interested.”

“Oh, in me - thanks,” Mia says, affronted.

“No, I don't mean it like that - shut up - you know you’re gorgeous - I mean, he’s not into relationships.”

Robyn looks thoughtful, “Actually, apart from a girlfriend years ago that Jack has told me about, I think you might be right - I don't think he’s seen anyone else.”

“What did he tell you?” I want to know every detail she knows.

“Not much, that he had a fiancé, but she broke his heart - that’s all I know.”

His heart was obliterated into a million tiny pieces, with no chance of it getting put back together.

“Anyway girls, come on, its Friday night - I'm still sober, let's change this,” I say, pouring us all some more Prosecco. One of them had bought a bottle with an extra glass for me.

Robyn answers me, “well, actually, before we all get hammered – I have something I want to ask you all.”

“Sounds interesting,” I say. She looks a mixture of excited and nervous.

 “Its about the hen party.”

“Wait a minute - you're not allowed to have a say in the hen party – it's my job as chief bridesmaid to organise that!”

She winces, “Well yeah, but I had this great idea, and Jack is up for it. We want a joint one.”

Mia's eyes widen. “What? No way! Ladies only!”

“You might not say that when I tell you what I have in mind.”

We all glance at each other. “Go on.”
