I'm not convinced. I think she’s lying.

“You would tell me, right? If he was giving you any trouble.”

She sighed. “Yeah, it's fine. Dad is working at sorting something out.”

I needed to keep my eye on this – on her. The thought of something bad happening to her guts me more than I’d like to admit.

I carry on plating up my food. “This smells so fucking good. You are gonna make a sensational wife, you know - you are such a catch.”

She laughs. “I don't think throwing a few things in a crockpot makes me marriage material.”

I spooned some into my mouth. I let out a groan.Damn. So good. She's wrong about that; besides, it’s not just her cooking – it’s her everything.

I went back into the living room with her while I ate dinner and watched some TV together. She’s on the last season of Lucifer - I watched some with her - but I don't get the attraction. After a while, she went to bed - like I said, domestic bliss without the action.

 Back to present . . .

Me;I’ll be home soon, just finishing up here. I’d love whatever you are willing to feed me. You in all night?

 Blue;Yeah, why?

Me;Got something I wanted to talk to you about.

Blue:You're not throwing me out already, are you?

 Me;With your cooking? No way!

Not to mention the fact that her walking around in skimpy clothes is seriously putting a smile on my face. And blue in my balls.

Blue;Haha, see you in a while.

As soon as I arrive home - the same again.

 “Hey, Big Guy.”

“Hey. What ya doin?” I groan when I see the TV. “Not Lucifer again?”

She scowls at me. “Fine, I’ll watch it upstairs on my little teeny phone.”

I laugh. “It's fine. I can put up with Tom Ellis for a short while.”

“You have no taste in TV.”

I shake my head and go to walk out of the room.

“So, what is it you wanted to ask me?”

“Can I get my coat off first?” I smile.

Her eyes flash with something...worry? Stress? “No, I've been worried since you text me. Have I done something wrong?”

How can she seriously think that?

“Of course not.” I sigh. “Okay, so first off, I want to say that in no way do I want you to feel obligated.”

Why do I feel nervous? Perhaps it’s because I haven't asked a girl out since I asked Violet out all those years ago.

 “I'm listening...”
