“I can understand now why your reaction to me was what it was in the beginning,” he said after a few minutes.

“I hate that I let him affect me like that. It wasn’t fair to you.”

“You’ve not said his name even once,” he pointed out smartly.

Chuckling, I lifted my face to kiss his jaw. “That’s on purpose. You don’t need that information.”

He pulled back and raised a brow at me. “You sure about that?”

“I am. Thank you. But I also don’t need anyone fighting my battles. He’s in the past. I’ve learned my lesson.” I kissed him on the lips and he scraped his fingernails against the back of my head like he was petting me.

“Okay. I just wish you wouldn’t have to see him ever again.”

“Now that, I agree with.” I shrugged one shoulder. “Horse circles are quite small even in a country this big. It’s inevitable to bump into him sometimes.”

I knew now that Richard had gotten off on everything because some part of him was sadistic. I remembered his expression as I drove off his yard that day. He’d been smirking and adjustinghimself while his perfect wife was no doubt cooing at her new horse in the barn.

We didn’t talk for a while. It wasn’t really bedtime yet, but I guess telling the story, digging up those memories, took a lot out of me.

“A nap and then round two?” I asked drowsily.

Carter chuckled. “Yeah, baby. That sounds good.”

He settled on his back and I cuddled to his side, head on his chest. I even put my leg over his, like I’d seen people do in the movies.

“I’ve never done this before,” I murmured against his skin.

For a moment I thought he wouldn’t answer, but then he said, “Well, consider more cuddling in your future from now on.”

I smiled and kissed his chest, then gave in to the tiredness.

A few hours later, I woke up to go take a leak. When I came back to bed, Carter was waiting for me.

“I thought you left,” he said, his tone surprisingly vulnerable in a way that I hadn’t expected.

I moved close to him again. “I wouldn’t do that.”

We kissed for a moment, and when I slid my hand down his stomach, I found him half hard.

“I want to try something,” I murmured against his lips.

“Oh?” He reached over to turn on the bedside table lamp on his side.

It was dim enough to not blind me, which I appreciated.

“I’ve never ridden anyone before,” I confessed, feeling almost shy about it.

His cock filled more in my hand.

“Based on what I’ve seen you do in a saddle, I’m sure you’ll do fine.” He reached to squeeze my ass. “You sure you’re not too sore?”

I grinned. “I have no horses to ride tomorrow, so it doesn’t matter.” Then I ducked my head and admitted, “Plus I kind of like the idea of feeling you all day.”

That seemed to be the right thing to say, because Carter let out a grunt and moved to kiss me ravenously.

He insisted on making sure I was lubed enough, and I put more on his condom covered dick, too, just to appease him. By the time I straddled him and lowered myself on his cock, I was fully awake and concentrating on my task.

The feeling of him inside me was different from this angle. He was suddenly deeper, and I closed my eyes, grinding down even more as I concentrated on feeling him inside.
