"No! Absolutely not!"
He pushes me up against the wall. "You're ours, Little Lamb."
Taking his face in my hands, I make him look at me. "And I will be forever, but you can't kill everybody that might be interested in me."
"Yes, I can." He mumbles.
"Promise me you'll behave this weekend?" I beg.
"What's your definition of behave?" He asks innocently.
"Let's start with not killing anyone."
"I can do that." He grins.
This is going to be one long ass weekend.

Home Sweet Home
There’s something comforting about being around the ones you love.

Pullingup to the house I grew up in always makes me a little sentimental. "Okay guys, no sneaking into my room. We've got a big day tomorrow, and I want it to be perfect for Mama and Doug. No touching me, no looking at me for longer than five seconds, and no flirting. Is that understood?"
Gunner shrugs, but Kai decides to give me lip. "Fuck that."
"Gunner?" It would be nice if he'd help me keep Kai in line, but I seriously doubt he will.
"Don't look at me, I promised you I'd never hide how I felt about you again. You're the one trying to keep us a secret."
Kai throws his hands up in the air dramatically. "Yeah, Pres, we’re more than just a piece of ass."
Despite myself, I can't help but bust out laughing. "I hate you."
"No you don't." He smiles.
He’s right I don’t. I really really don’t. Gunner grabs my hand. "Let's just play this weekend by ear, okay?"
I nod. "Whatever. Let's go inside before Mama comes out here and wonders what we're up to."
"That sounds like fun. Count me in." Kai laughs.
"Nope, no sex for you ever again." Opening my door, I flip him off.
I speed walk inside without waiting on them to get their act together, then head straight for the kitchen.
The smell of Mama’s homemade chicken and dumplings fills the air, and makes me want to do a happy dance. For such a little thing she has become an excellent cook.
"Hey Mama!" I wrap my arms around her in a bear hug.
"Hey baby girl! I've missed you." She smiles.
"I've missed you, too." And I mean it. Thank God for Doug Donovan, he's done wonders for our relationship.
"Hey boys, dinner's ready," Mama calls out to Kai and Gunner as they walk in.
