Logan brushed over my question. “I only wanted to introduce myself. I need to have a word with a few guards, but please, don’t hesitate to call me if you need me,” he said and with that, he walked off.Huh… weird.
After hours in the pool, we got out and headed back up to my room. Silvia spoke while I ate up almost all of the quesadillas I had made for the two of us. “You should really get a pole in here,” she suggested and my hand stopped halfway to my mouth.
“That’s not a bad idea,” I smiled. “I will.”
“I’ll help,” she instantly offered. “And I’ll also be the first one to see you perform on it.”
We conversed for hours on end until she finally decided to head home.
“And you’re sure you don’t want to spend the night?” I pleaded, holding onto her arm.
She sucked air through her teeth. “I really don’t want to hear how the devil fucks you,” she shook her head and I sighed, rolling my eyes.
“I sometimes forget why I like you,” I humorously said and she laughed.
After she left, I closed the door behind her and took a deep breath in, slowly exhaling. I headed to the kitchen and poured myself some water.
Business, he said. I had no idea where he was. Was he even in the city? The country? The fucking continent—he better start praying if he left the damn continent without telling me.
I finally headed upstairs but got stopped by Bianca. “What are you doing?” she crossed her arms over her chest.
“Going to my bedroom?”
“Don’t play dumb with me,” she shot back. “You’re using him. You don’t love him—not like I do, so why are you still here?” she seethed, and I felt pity and sadness wash over me.She has feelings for Antonio. Right.
“Bianca…” I trailed off.
“Don’t. Don’t give me some sad ass lecture, and don’t feel sorry for me, because I don’t need yourpitylooks,” she shook her head.Maybe the nice approach won’t work this time.
“The relationship between Antonio and I is exactly that. Between Antonio and I,” I tried reasoning with her but she only scoffed in response. “I don’t need to explain what happens between us to you.”
“You’re gonna hurt him.”
“Bianca—”
“And when you do, I’ll be right there to make sure I ruin you,” she confidently assured me. “I promise you, you’ll never be happy again,” she assured me.
“Get out of my house, Bianca.”
I subconsciously jolted as I turned around to find Antonio staring at her with his arms crossed over his chest.
Bianca’s eyes nearly bulged out of her head as her and I stared at Antonio. “But I—”
The muscle in his jaw ticked as he walked closer. “Now.”
With fearful eyes and a trembling chin, she lowered her head and rushed downstairs. He shifted his eyes to me and I swallowed hard—not knowing what to say to him.
“I’mgonnago to bed,” I stepped aside, rushing through my words, but he stepped in front of me—stopping me. I avoided eye contact, forobviousreasons.
“Something is bothering you,” he pointed out. “What is it?”
Of course he notices when something’s bothering me. He fucking should since he’s the one that made something bother you. Not now, little voice in my head. Oh. Sorry.
“I’m just tired. Goodnight Antonio,” I said, taking another step but he matched my step.
“Try again,” he sternly said and I sighed. He doesn’t give up, does he?
I stayed quiet as I fiddled with the thread on my shorts and he lifted my chin with his hand. “Answer me, Nirah.”
