“So you’re happy I ended up as your wife?”

“Of course.” I smiled and kissed the tip of her nose before I homed in on her last piece of clothing and slid down her panties.

As I soaked up the sight of her naked body, my hands roamed over her shape and concern filled my chest “You’ve lost weight.”

“I’ve been mourning,” she said softly and waited for me to look into her eyes. “I only understood how much you meant to me after I left and I thought I’d lost you forever.”

The tears in her eyes made me blink back my own emotions. “You never lost me,” I said, my voice shaky.

“I thought I did.”

“I’ll make the pain go away,” I promised and pressed myself against her.

She spread her thighs to give me access.

I was still on top of her, supporting myself on my elbows so as not to crush her but close enough for our chests to rub against each other when I slowly penetrated her. She leaned her head back and closed her eyes, a sweet moan escaping her.

My hands found hers, silently interlacing our fingers, our tongues, our minds, and our midsections as if we were two electronic components made to come together to recharge.

Our lovemaking started out slow and emotional. She cried and when tears welled up in my own eyes I hid my head against her neck, hating how damn fragile I felt with her. Christina had the power to destroy me, and if she had rejected me when I came to find her I would have most likely ended up a sad shadow of myself, like Magni.

But she was here, she wanted me, and instead of fucking feverishly to make up for lost time, we were more like two people who wanted to eat a cake a crumb at a time to prolong the exquisite taste of it. To me it was all about the connection between us. With my wife back, I wasn’t alone anymore. From now on Christina and I would be a team.

“What are you thinking?” I asked when we lay entangled after our lovemaking.

“That this was a beautiful reunion of two lovers who had been miserable without each other,” she said. “And I wonder how you found me.”

“I remembered the name of the university where you used to teach, so we went there and someone had seen you at the senior center a few nights ago.”

“And the senior center gave you my address?” she asked with a tone of surprise.

“No.” I looked away.

“Boulder.” She turned my face back to her. “How did you get my address?”

“Marie had it.” I couldn’t meet her eyes and looked away again.

“Yeah, I know Marie – what’s wrong? Why do you look so guilty?”

I placed an arm across my face, hiding my eyes. “I did something awful.”

“Please tell me, you didn’t hurt Marie to get my address?”

“No!” I said quickly, giving her a disturbed look.

“What, Boulder? You’re scaring me.” She sat up and pushed at me. “Just tell me. What did you do?”

I sat up too. My head hanging low. “I would have never done it if I wasn’t so desperate to get your address, and I feel horrible. Please know that I feel horrible.”

Her face grew redder by the second and her jaws tightened. “What the hell did you do to Marie?”

My eyes widened with her use of a curse word and I cleared my throat before I admitted in a whisper, “I kissed her.”

Christina’s jaw dropped and a small triangle formed between her brows. “You didwhat?”

“I’m sorry. I’m truly deeply sorry and I would never betray you like that if I had known any other way.”

Christina closed her eyes and then she shook her head in disbelief. “You kissed old Marie?”
