“That guy. The one who speaks three—”

Ezer punched his arm. “I swear to God, Ned. I’m so serious right now. I may have to kill you.”

Ned chewed his lower lip, thinking. If there was truly nothing with the alpha at the omega school, if it was true that Ezer wanted to sign with him now, he had only one question. “Why?”

“Why?” Ezer blew out a breath. “Because you’re my—my—ugh. You’re Ned. You’remyNed.”

“That won’t ever change. Even if you wanted to have your heat with that alpha from the school. What’s his name? Reynold?”

Ezer stared at him. “Never mind. Forget it. You’re too dumb for me to love.” He stood up and dusted off his pants. “Let’s get dinner ready, come on.”

Ned stood dizzily, a dart in is heart. “Really?”

“No! Not really,” Ezer said, shoving against his chest. “I love you, you absolute dummy. I want you. I wantonlyyou. And we’re going to share a heat together again. Don’t you want that? Aren’t you excited about it?”

“Are you?” Ned asked, shocked and confused.

“Yes! I’m looking forward to it. I want your knot. For fuck’s sake, Ned.”

“Oh, um…wait, let’s back up.”

Ezer rolled his eyes. “Okay.”

“You love me?”

“Yes?”

“Since when?”

Ezer’s expression softened as he stepped forward and pressed himself against Ned, peering up into his face with a sweetness that made Ned’s knees weak. “A long time now. I think I loved you even before the twins came. Definitely after. And I loved you most when you made me dissolve our contract, and I’ve loved you every single day since.”

“But…” Ned swallowed hard. “You didn’t let me touch you for the longest time.”

“I was scared.”

“Why? I’d never hurt you.”

“I was afraid I’d feel too much, and then I’d break.” Ezer wrapped his arms around Ned’s neck, pulling him close as if to kiss him. “But now I know, you’ll never let me break.”

“No. I’ll always take care of you.”

Ezer whispered, “I’ll always take care of you too.”

His lips were gentle on Ned’s own, but heat grew between them quickly. “Where are the kids?” Ned asked, lifting Ezer by the ass, as Ezer wrapped his legs around Ned’s waist.

“With Adrien.”

“You planned this?”

“Not this, but a conversation. Yeah.”

“You want to sign the contract?”

“I do.”

“When?”

Ezer bit Ned’s chin, and then wriggled until Ned put him down again. “Now.”
