Pulling up in front of the crib, Mercedees’s car was parked alongside Klarity’s. I could only help but wonder why the hell she was at my crib and not hers or at work for that matter. I threw my shit in park and headed inside with the pieces from Selena.
All I could hear was Cedees loud as laugh coming from the kitchen. However, it was the smell of fresh baked goods that had my attention. CJ came out the elevator flying to me. His third birthday had finally come and gone, and he was feeling like a big boy now. My Baby did her thing so far raising him and teaching him to speak full sentences. He was far more advanced in talking among other things than kids his age.
“Roooyce!” he shouted. I dropped the bags so I could scoop him up.
“What the business is, Lil’ Man?” I picked him up and threw him in the air as soon as he was in reach. He laughed and hugged me tightly when he came down.
“Nothing. Mommy made cookies. Want some?”
“You know I do. Who she with?”
“TT Benz,” he replied still wearing that big ass smile.
Nodding, we walked to the kitchen with him in my arms. Rounding the corner, Mercedees and My Baby sat at the bar enjoying each other’s company. Cedees held Essence and looked as if she wasn’t going to give her back. At least I could say my folk loved the kids even if they doubted Klarity being for me.
I placed CJ on his feet and walked over to my woman. She lifted her face to mine as soon as I towered over her. The kiss was soft and welcomed. Her adjustment to me was easier than I expected. I noticed she had her nails done as she gently caressed my face. Cuzo must’ve got her right while I was gone. Shit, that was one less thing I had to pay for.
“Hi baby,” she whispered against my lips.
“Wassup Mama. How you feeling? My daughter giving you hell?”
“I feel good as usual and no. She’s just as content as ever. She only gives me hell when she realizes you aren’t around. Surprisingly, she’s been good though. Your mother had her while Mercedees hooked a sista up,” she answered flashing her nails.
“They look good. I’m glad you handled that. We got a small gathering to hit in a few hours. Couldn’t be claiming you as my wife while you looking a mess,” I jested.
She gave me that look and said, “Yeah, keep playing and this ring will return to sender. Besides, for me to be a wife, I have to walk down the aisle.”
We could play all damn day but don’t throw my marriage in the mix. I don’t even play like that. Shit, I was still trying to make sure that small detail didn’t hit the surface. I could only imagine how she’d cut up after finding out I fooled her ass, yet again. She was on the fence ‘bout us and needed a lil’ shove over that muthafucka, so I helped her pretty ass out. She wasn’t gon’ see it like that though.
“You better find you something safe to do, Mrs. Atkins. I don’t play ‘bout my shit,” I warned her.
Releasing a light laugh, she shook her head and pecked my lips once more before giving her attention back to Cedees. My Baby was in her natural state, and I wanted her rocking that same style tonight. She had the beauty to pull off anything and that was real. Klarity was the full package but that fuck ass nigga she procreated with never saw it. She had a nigga by her side that did though, and I wasn’t gon’ ever turn her loose.
“You said we got a get together later. Who’s is it?” Klarity inquired.
“It’s a ceremony for me. I made a major move so it’s like a congratulations or whatnot.”
“What was the move?”
“It’s a table I sit at called The Oath. Mercedees does as well, but she’s never at the meetings. She doesn’t have the same obligations I do.”
“What were the obligations?”
She was firing off question after question getting closer and closer to the marriage stipulation. I wasn’t a fearful man but damn she was making a nigga nervous as hell right now for some reason. I looked at Mercedees and she looked at me wearing a smirk. She wanted to see how I was ‘bout to spin this shit. I knew that look from anywhere. I returned one asking for her help silently.
“We can’t really talk about that cuz-in-law. The Oath strictly forbids it,” Mercedees jumped in.
“Oh, okay. Well, is the ceremony simple? What are we supposed to wear?” Klarity asked.
“I got you covered, My Baby. I was just at the tailor shop getting us right. The bags at the door. Come check it out with me right quick.”
Nodding, she stood, and my eyes immediately went to her backside. Klarity had hips and ass for days. It was like Essence gave her a fuller body than she already had. She snapped back fa sho’ and that muthafucka had curves that made niggas crash the fuck out. Nothing about this woman said she was average.
I followed behind her not bothering to take my daughter from Cedees. There were some plans that suddenly formed as I watched her hips sway from side to side. The recoil on that ass changed a nigga mood from sad to happy any day. Today it was just brightening my fuckin’ day from an already bright one.
I was having flashbacks of that bitch bouncing off my stomach but when she bent over to look through the bags, I lost my patience. “Aye, come here right quick,” I said opening the foyer closet door and pulling her inside.
She had no time to think, and we had more than enough room to get it in. It wasn’t nothing like a quickie, especially when that muthafucka bite back. With the door closed, she was picked up and pinned against it. Those thick thighs wrapped around my waist without hesitation. I liked that she wasn’t denying me what I momentarily desired. She was just as hungry.
