“Wait—what?”Landon’s brow furrows.“Why would he say that?”

I let out a long sigh and take off my glasses, rubbing my eyes.“He cornered me in the restroom at Gio’s Burger when he came in with Lexi.We had… a talk, and then he told me if I show up at his frat house, he’ll kick me out himself.”

“Is it just me, or is there some serious tension between you two?”Landon says, raising his brows with a smirk.

“Oh, please, Landon.”I huff, looking away.

“Come on, you can feel it.I know you have feelings for Fox, even if you keep trying to convince yourself otherwise.”I open my mouth to object, but Landon keeps talking.“And Fox—yeah, he might say he’s straight, but I don’t think he’s as ‘straight’ as he thinks.Trust me, I see the way he looks at you. Those smirks and little glances? They don’t go unnoticed.Maybe he’s just… confused.”

“Landon, Fox is a jerk.He treats you like shit. And he doesn’t even like me.Everything I do annoys him, and he doesn’t fail to show it.The guy’s a homophobe! What more do I need to say to convince you he’s not the kind of guy I want to fall for?”

Landon just gives me that knowing look.“Is Andrew ever mean to you?”I ask him, changing the subject.

“Of course not.”

“Exactly.Case closed.”I put my glasses back on and pick up my assignment.

“Just be careful tomorrow, and let yourself have a little fun.Frat parties can be a lot, but I think you’ll enjoy it if you relax. And maybe when you’re back, we can finally talk about that gay bar visit.”He winks, and I shake my head, hiding a smile as I turn back to my work.We spend another hour at the library before heading back to his dorm.I change into my uniform for my shift at Gio’s Burger, knowing it’s going to be a long evening.

“Tell Nat I said hi,” Landon calls as I head out the door.

The diner is bustling, and Nat and I are running around trying to keep up.I don’t think I’ve ever worked this hard here.Between customers, Nat finally takes a breather beside me.

“What are your plans for the weekend?”she asks.

I wipe my forehead, catching my breath.“Well, I thought I’d just hit the library or maybe go to the literature club with Leanne…”

“Sure, because that’s so thrilling.”She smirks.“Come on, spill the real tea.”

I hesitate before answering.“Blaze invited me to a frat party tomorrow night.”

“No way—Alpha Kappa?”Nat looks at me with wide eyes.“That’s the biggest frat on campus! And he invited you personally?Wow, Cam, that’s… something.”

Katie overhears and chimes in, her voice way too loud.“Blaze asked you to go to a frat party with him?He must really like you!”

“Honestly, I’m not even sure I want to go,” I mutter, already regretting that I told them.

“Did Landon try to talk you out of it?”Nat raises a brow.

“No, actually, he thinks I should go.”

“You’ve never been to a party, have you?”Nat smirks knowingly.

I scoff.“Thanks for the vote of confidence.”

She laughs.“Just don’t accept drinks from strangers. And don’t dress too hot, or Fox might lose his mind and actually kiss you.”Katie laughs with her.

“Fox is straight,” I remind them, more to reassure myself than anything.

“Sure, keep telling yourself that.”Nat chuckles.

Katie chimes in, “You don’t have to be gay to like a gay guy, you know.”

I don’t want to hear any more theories about Fox secretly crushing on me.Just thinking about going to the party has me on edge enough. But now, the more they talk about it, the less I want to go.Still, I can’t exactly back out without disappointing Blaze.

I try to focus on the Netflix series playing on my laptop, but my mind keeps drifting.I just got off the phone with my parents, who had the usual round of questions about Fox.They asked if he was still causing trouble or throwing parties.I told them, mostly truthfully, that he wasn’t all that bad anymore. After that last party when I’d walked in on strangers using my bed as their personal hookup spot, Fox hasn’t thrown another party at the apartment.Since that weird near-kiss and his blowup with Lexi, I haven’t heard a single “nighttime activity” coming from his room.Honestly, I’ve never been so grateful for peace and quiet.

I glance at the time on my laptop.Nearly 9 p.m.It’s Saturday, and I’m back at the apartment.Fox wasn’t home when I got here, but I heard him on the phone, followed by the front door opening and closing. Not too long after, I heard his room door shut, then the front door again. He’s probably at his frat house, getting ready for tonight’s party.I still can’t wrap my head around how he manages it all—he’s a soccer player, a frat house president, and somehow keeps up with school.Soccer players aren’t supposed to drink or party like that, especially during the season. But Fox Wilder smokes, drinks, and parties. How does he pull it off?
