“Doing what?”
“Watching Fox.Soccer practice.”
“Okay…” His tone shifts.“You wanna tell me what’s going on?”
I chuckle nervously, glancing at the field where the team is starting to disperse.“You also have something to tell me, remember?Monday at school?”
“Oh my God,” he exclaims dramatically.“Did he confess?That he has feelings for you?”
“Yeah.Something like that.”
Before he can respond, I spot Fox and Blaze walking toward me.“I gotta go.I’ll call you back,” I say quickly, ending the call.
I stand as they approach, slipping my phone into my pocket.
“Hey, Cam,” Blaze greets me with a curious look.“What are you doing here?”
I shrug, tipping my chin toward Fox.“Gotta look out for my roommate.”
Blaze raises an eyebrow but doesn’t press further.
“And I was bored out of my wits, so I decided to drop by,” I add, glancing at Fox, who looks… impatient.
“Wanna head home?”Fox asks, his tone clipped.
“Uh, yeah.I definitely can’t walk.”
Blaze smirks knowingly but doesn’t say anything.
“Who’s this?”a voice calls out, and all three of us turn to see the team captain, approaching.
“What the fuck do you want, Ethan?”Fox snaps.
Ethan ignores him, his gaze fixed on me.“Just saying hi to the pretty boy.”
“Uh… hi,” I mumble awkwardly.
“You should fuck off before you get hurt,” Fox growls.
I grab his arm before he does something stupid.“Let’s go.”
“You dating him now?”Ethan taunts.“What, tired of girls already?”
“Shut up, Ethan,” Blaze snaps.
I pull Fox away before he can escalate things further.Ethan’s words sting, but I don’t let them show.
As we reach Fox’s car, Blaze stops behind us.“Call me when you get home,” he says softly.“Especially once he cools off.”
I nod, watching as he walks away.
“You want me to drive?”I ask Fox.
He smiles faintly.“I’m fine.”
Sliding into the driver’s seat, he glances at me.“But I’ll tell you this—I can’t wait to get home and have my lips all over you.”
My breath hitches, and I quickly climb into the passenger seat, avoiding his gaze.My cheeks burn as the engine roars to life, and Fox pulls out of the parking lot.
