Scott nearly melted into the couch, stroking his hands over Dare’s legs and back. “I wasn’ttooworried.”

Dare made a tsking sound, pulling his browstogether and shaking his head. “Do you lie to your Dom?”

Eyes widening, Scott couldn’t seem todecide how to answer that. “Is that lying?”

Dare gave a low chuckle that made both ofus squirm, and I knew Scott’s dick had to be just as hard as mine. “Yes,sweetness, you need to tell me what you’re really feeling when I ask. Even ifyou think I’m just being polite or that you’ll sound rude or even if you thinkit’s silly.”

Dare raised one eyebrow and waited.

Scott sighed, finally nodding. “Yes,Master. I was…I was a bit worried.”

He looked down at me, concern etched on hisface. “I wasn’t worried about dating you. This feels right. But your parents…Ididn’t want them to think…”

Sitting up, I shifted so I was kneeling athis feet and reached up to stroke his face. “No, I get it. In your place I’dhave been a basket case. You had every right to be worried.”

His parents were the biggest dicks I’d evermet, so I understood that he didn’t want to lose anyone else in his life.

“I was pretty sure it would be fine. Imean,” he finally smiled, “they’re kind of awkward, but they mean well andthey’ve never had an issue with either of us.”

“They’re really awkward, not kind ofanything.” I grinned as they both laughed quietly. “But you know what thismeans?”

Scott shook his head, studying me like heknew I was going to say something ridiculous.

He knew me so well.

“Once she gets over the surprise and heranger at being questioned, she’s going to realize how serious this is, and thenthe real hard part starts.” I laughed as Scott groaned.

“She’s going to start researching.”

Scott’s dramatic response had Darelaughing. “What is she going to do?”

“My mom’s goal in life is to be an informedparent.” I grinned as Dare cocked his head. “I’m betting she’s been doingnothing but trying to figure out how a relationship like this will work.”

That was probably part of the reason shegot so pissed.

We’d ruined her plans.

Dare chuckled. “Then I think we should giveher something else to focus on. Did you tell her about the apartments you’vebeen looking at?”

Scott shook his head. “Nothing specific.”

“Mostly because the ones we’ve seen haven’tbeen any better than this one.” I shrugged as Dare chuckled, nodding.

He looked around the apartment with a smile.“You guys have made a great home here. It’s going to be hard to find somethingthat gives you that same feeling. You just need a safer neighborhood.”

He wasn’t wrong.

Especially after seeing the way he wasbeing eyed by some of our neighbors recently. The glares had been justpredatory enough to make me uncomfortable, so it was time to kick the searchinto high gear.

“We just need something that gives us morespace and is safe.” Those were the biggest things on my list, but Scott nodded, adding his own requirement.

“And somewhere that we can stay until webuy our own house.” He got a bit of a sheepish grin. “I don’t want to push us,but renting forever is silly…especially if we’re serious.”

His hand moved, unconsciously shifting tostroke one finger over his watch face where Dare’s tender words were etched onthe underside. The thoughtful gesture had Dare and me both leaning closer andkissing his cheeks.

As we pulled away, I sat back and smiled.“We’re serious.”

“Very.” Dare snuggled closer. “But thatdoesn’t mean we rush. We just need to get you guys a safer place to live.”
