So that meant we were supposed to entertainhim?
I was starting to think there were a lot ofunwritten social rules that Dakota hadn’t filled me in on. We were going tohave a talk about that. Maybe if I had him dissect their relationships like hewould characters, I could get all the details in a succinct manner.
Tanner’s frown in the distance said hewasn’t going to play babysitter today. My first thought was that he had otherplans later, but then I took a second look at him. He was stern and holdinghimself very rigidly.
Too rigidly.
My best guess was that Shane was trying outa new plug and Tanner was going to take his frustration out on everyone aroundhim.
Great.
I should’ve been warned if they were goingto be turned on and volatile before I got here. Dakota and I were going to talkabout that too.
Pressing back against Dakota, I whisperedlow. “If I knew everyone was going to be caged and a few of them plugged, I’dhave decorated you more.”
His groan echoed through the room, causingmore dirty giggles. They might not be able to hear what I’d said, but his blushmade it clear I was having fun with my sub. Then, just to show I was willing torelax and be part of their interesting little family, I gave his butt a pat.“Have fun planning. I think I’m going to look at it and see what kind of ideasthe space gives me.”
Dakota shot me a look that was halffrustration and half approval. My guess was that he liked that I fit in, but hewasn’t a fan of being the center of attention. I just gave him a grin andstarted wandering through the building.
I heard his sigh that was just for show ashe walked toward Tanner and some of the other guys who I thought wereconstruction workers near a wide table in the back, but he’d already startedfocusing on the work at hand so I wandered off.
While Dakota and his friends started goingover the plans and possibly conquering the world, I headed through a doorway atthe other end of the room. There was no finished flooring yet, but it was allstarting to come together.
When he’d said that they were going to havea BDSM club, I hadn’t pictured something this grand, but I probably shouldn’thave been surprised. Dakota didn’t do anything half-assed, so his friendsprobably wouldn’t either.
The next room was smaller and moreintimate, but that wasn’t saying much considering how big the warehouse was.Logically, the bigger room would be for food and drinks or just hanging out—theclub version of a living room. So that made this some sort of space for scenesand displays.
I mused aloud, “I wonder if anyone’s askedTony to do a demo with the whip?”
A voice coming from behind me made me jump.“I don’t think anyone specific has been asked to do demos, but I’ll make a noteto discuss that with Tanner.”
The tall alpha looked like he’d have beenmore at home in a suit than the jeans he was wearing. He held out his hand as Iturned. “Shane.”
Ah yes, Tanner’s Dom and partner. “Tristan.Nice to meet you.”
As we shook hands, another of the Domswalked over. From what I could deduce, I had Shane and Simon because Jonah’smen were going over the club details and Austin had said Silas was working. HadI missed anyone?
I couldn’t be sure because there seemed tobe so many of them, but I didn’t think so. Holding out my hand to the otherguy, I smiled. “Simon?”
He nodded. “Yep, good memory.”
I shrugged. “It’s usually more helpful withcharacters than people, but I’ve heard a lot about everyone, so that helps.”
Simon looked over at Shane and gave him ashove. “I told you he saw us like characters.”
Chuckling, I shook my head. “He sees you aspeople. But I have a feeling some of the things you say and do give him a lotof inspiration.”
That was probably an understatement.
Shane glared at him. “Be nice.”
Yep, they were brothers.
Which got me curious. “It’s not going toget odd for you guys when the club opens?”
They both shrugged in unison. I couldn’thold back my laughter, but they saw the humor in it too. Simon grinned. “Wedon’t do everything in unison. Trust me.”
Still laughing, I nodded. “I’ve heardyou’re the more…adventurous brother.”
