A human one?
He knew they weren’t up for adoption, right?
Wade shot me a dirty look before I couldask it. He smiled at all of us, making it clear we were to be nice. “I’m sureAustin knows not to make anyone uncomfortable. He’s just excited andopen-minded.”
And insane.
But that was Silas’s problem now.
“What do you think? I don’t think it needsto be a paid position, necessarily.” We all turned again, that time to Austinwhen he seemed to ask a random question.
“What?” Tune out for just a moment and heskipped ahead three steps.
But I didn’t feel bad because everyone elsewas looking at him oddly too.
Tanner seemed to be trying not to sigh.“What doesn’t need to be a paid position?”
Austin huffed, clearly not pleased wehadn’t been following. “A room monitor for the cuties.”
We were all staring dumbly, so he shook hishead and realized he had to repeat himself. “I know we said we were going toneed people monitoring the activity downstairs and the private rooms, but Ithink we need someone who really understands the lifestyle to stay up here whenthere are littles and pups.”
That seemed too logical, so I knew we weremissing something. “What do you mean?”
Austin clearly thought we were morons. “Forthe single ones. Not every little or pup will be with a Daddy or handler orDom. We need someone who can fill that role in some form or fashion for whenthey want to come.”
Ahh.
How were we supposed to advertise for thatposition?
Wade gave Austin a beaming smile. “Oh,that’s such a good idea. Not just someone to watch over them and make sure theplay is safe, but someone to make sure they can enjoy themselves if they don’thave a Daddy.”
A fucking babysitter?
Sometimes I wondered how their brainsprocessed information.
But seeing the look on Wade’s and Austin’sfaces, I’d already lost the battle. “There need to be rules for that positionand set hours for unattended littles and pups who want to be…watched.”
How had my life come to this point?
Austin agreed entirely too easily. So ofcourse he bounced over toward the door and hollered down. “Does anyone knowsomeone who wants to be a babysitter for the single littles and pups? We can’tleave them unattended or they’ll get in trouble.”
He realized they were adults that were inroles, right?
The giggles from downstairs said they wereasking the same question too.
But some asshole had to be helpful andcalled up from downstairs. “I know a guy that might want to do it.”
Lovely.
Austin looked like he was ready to bouncedownstairs and hug whoever was so helpful, but thankfully Tanner decided toreel him in. “We’ll add that to the positions that need to be filled, but rightnow, we have things to finish talking about, or instead of the pool party thisweekend, we’re going to have to work.”
That had Austin standing straighter. “Nope, not losing the party and we can’t talk about the club because Simon doesn’tknow what’s going on.”
Wade just had to be helpful. “Why don’t wejust tell him? He seemed to be very open-minded.”
That had everyone quietly looking around. Finally, everyone looked at Shane who’d been primarily watching quietly andtaking notes. He shrugged. “He clearly isn’t as vanilla as I thought he was,but that will have to be up to you guys.”
I rolled my eyes. “You just don’t want totake a side and risk upsetting your omega.”
