The banging on the window had both of us gasping as we broke apart. A tall man who looked a lot like Shane loomed against the car. “If you get arrested for public indecency, Mom’s going to kill you.”
Shit.
Shane barked out a laugh. “Meet my brother, Simon.”
If this was what I’d been missing by not having siblings, I owed my father a debt of gratitude. “If I die of embarrassment, just tell everyone I had a heart attack.”
Shane chuckled and gave me a quick peck. “No deal. You have to survive or I don’t know what he’ll tell my mother.”
Well, the shock had killed my erection so I didn’t have that to worry about any longer, but the idea that his brother had seen us making out like sexed-up teenagers had me seriously considering climbing under the car.
“Your family is insane.”
“I’ve been telling you that for a while now.” Shane grinned as he reached for the door handle. “You just didn’t believe me.”
I was going to have to start taking his crazy stories more seriously.
As I opened the door, the mountainous alpha stepped back and headed around the front of the car to talk to Shane. I assumed he was trying to give me a bit of space, but without a bathroom and a glass of something strong to settle my racing heart, there wasn’t any chance of me relaxing.
“I’m pretty sure you didn’t interrupt us to be a good citizen.” Shane rolled his eyes as Simon chuckled.
“I didn’t recognize the car and your vague texts had me curious.” He glanced over to me and looked like he was trying to pull back some of his teasing. “I’m Simon. Nice to finally meet you.”
Shane chuckled as he walked around the car, shoving his way past his brother to come to my side. “Aren’t you going to at least pretend you don’t know who he is?”
Simon laughed. “If you think I’m going to pretend you haven’t been head over heels for him for almost a year, you’re insane. This is too good to pass up.”
Some of my tension finally eased as I smiled up at Shane. “A year?”
Shane groaned but took my hand as he shot a death glare at his brother. “Thanks for making sure I look like a teenager with his first crush.”
“You’re welcome. That’s what family’s for.” Then Simon’s smile dimmed as he looked back and forth between us. “But does this mean I can’t use your TV?”

If meetingSimon hadn’t chased Tanner off, I was pretty sure nothing would. Shutting the door, I set my bag down and pulled Tanner into my arms, leaning back. “You survived.”
He chuckled as he rested his head against my chest. “It was a close call.”
Running a hand up and down his back, I smiled and kissed his head. “If you survived one, you can live through the rest.”
Tanner groaned. “I’m not even going to pretend that sounds like fun.”
Kissing the top of his head, I grinned. “My poor baby, I forget you’re an only child.”
He’d clearly never had the pleasure of being tormented by family. I’d met enough of his friends, though, to be pretty sure they weren’t much different from having siblings.
Just flirty, outrageous ones.
Tanner chuckled and nodded. “You need to ease me into things like that.”
“So no more cock-blocking siblings surprising us in the driveway?” I laughed when he started shaking his head.
“I’d always pictured looking more dignified the first time I met your family.” There was just enough of a whine in his voice to have me smiling.
“I’d rather they see the loving man who wants me passionately, not the stuffy workaholic who’s going to overthink things.” No matter how much his money and position didn’t matter to me, other people might not have an easy time looking past it. And as much as I loved my family…they could sometimes be those other people.
