I chuckled, but didn’t stop playing with him yet. I liked reminding him he belonged to me. “Not before I get a chance to play with you in the club.”

He lifted his head, a blush spreading across his cheeks, but the anticipation in his gaze was impossible to miss. “You’ll go to the club with me? I know doing things in front of other people is a lot different from playing like this in private.”

I added a second finger and watched as he squirmed. Smiling, I kissed him tenderly as I made him writhe. “I can’t wait to show everyone how sexy my dirty little omega is.”

And surprisingly, it didn’t sound as scary as it should have.

“But I won’t forget I’myourdirty omega.” Tanner gave me a quick peck and smiled before tucking himself back against me as I played with his body. Eventually I’d clean him up and get him tucked into bed, but in that moment, I was exactly where I wanted to be.

Tanner

I could have been stretchedout in bed with Shane, but no, I had to deal with a man who thought buying me a spouse was a reasonable idea.

Sometimes he made me feel like I must have been adopted.

Or maybe he’d just been raised by aliens.

“Thank you, Max.” I nodded, trying not to be too familiar as the butler closed the door behind me. I didn’t mind, but it made him nervous.

“Your father is in his study.” Maxwell looked at my coat. “May I take that, sir?”

“No, thank you. I won’t be long.” Just long enough to force some sense down the crazy man’s throat.

“Of course.” Maxwell stepped back quietly as I started toward the study.

I’d been trying to get the guy to open up for years, but the beta was unwavering in his belief that it would be unprofessional. I wasn’t even sure if he was single or dating anyone. The only reason I knew he wasn’t married was because of his insurance paperwork.

That separation was one of the biggest differences between the way I ran things and the way Dad did. I might not push my employees to share their personal lives at work, but I made sure to get to know as many of them as I could. Hell, I even knew all my housekeeper’s kids and sent them birthday cards.

I’d even paid for soccer camp for the youngest. Although that was a secret I was keeping from Anita.

She’d kill me if she found out.

“Dad?” Heading into the study, I tried to sound rational, but it was difficult.

The idiot had tried to buy me an alpha.

“Tanner.” Dad looked up from his desk, smiling. “I was just about to call you. For some reason, my bank cards have been canceled, and Gerald keeps hanging up on me every time I ask about it.”

Yeah, for some random reason they’d all been canceled.

Gerald was the head of my accounting department. Of course Dad would call him when something went wrong. Gerald was a wimp.

“Because you tried to buy me a Russian alpha off the internet.” I didn’t bother to hide the way my eyes rolled as the words came out. It was ridiculous.

Dad frowned, leaning back in his chair as he waved his hand like the truth was a fly that needed to be brushed away. “It’s a matchmaking service. It comes highly recommended.”

“Bullshit. You tried to buy me a spouse.” I flopped down on the chair in front of his desk. “Do you know how much trouble you could be in for that shit? Human trafficking. Wire fraud, possibly. The list is enough to send you to prison for years.”

“That’s ridiculous.” The man had clearly broken from reality because he leaned forward and smiled. “They have a one hundred percent success rate. I’ve been emailing the owner and she had several sweet alphas that she thinks might be perfect for you.”

Fucking hell.

Sweet alphas?

He clearly had no idea what kind of alpha he should have been shopping for.
