“That seems like you agreed to it too easily. You were supposed to fight harder to work longer hours.” He gave me a skeptical look and stopped as we finally reached the door to Leashes and Lace. “Even Lane and Eli said how much you were working lately.”

They were a big bunch of gossips. “Well, and please don’t say anything, but until recently, Eli was crazy busy with a lot of things and couldn’t help with the paperwork side of things. When I added in his problems with Roman, it made him completely unable to function. For about six months, every time he helped me, I had to redo the paperwork the next day. Not that I could tell him that. It just would have made things more difficult for him.”

Leaning against the door of the dark entrance, I pulled Casey into my arms and wrapped them around him. The way the lights lit up the street, we were standing in shadows, so I wasn’t worried about anyone else noticing us. He stiffened for a second before melting into me. “And then there was the little problem of me being interested in someone I shouldn’t have been. It was quite distracting.”

Casey peeked up at me, those wide, innocent-looking eyes staring intently at me. “I was distracting?”

“Incredibly so.” Since he still seemed so shocked at the idea, I continued. “Every time I talked to you, I left frustrated because it always felt like I hadn’t learned anything about you. You were so quiet and shy, it was like a miracle every time I figured out something new.”

He blushed and tucked his face against my neck. His soft breath against my neck had my cock hardening, and I had to push through my growing desire to focus on his words. “I wasn’t sure what to say to you. I didn’t even know if you were gay at first. None of the guys at the photo shoot distracted you at all. Even some of my bosses who I know are straight couldn’t keep their eyes off Eli.”

That made me laugh, and I tightened my hold on my cutie. “Well, I’m sure Lane would have volunteered the information, considering no one has any secrets around here. Also, you were the only thing I found fascinating at that shoot. Besides, Eli’s cock stopped being distracting years ago.”

Casey giggled, and the sound vibrated through me right down to my dick. “I think that’s impossible.”

Since he didn’t seem to be jealous, I smiled. “So you found a lap full of an almost naked Eli distracting?”

Another quiet giggle escaped and the soft puffs of air caressed over my neck. “I didn’t know where to put my hands.”

I started caressing gently over his back as I held him, loving the little shivers that raced through him as he cuddled closer. “Since he was naked on your lap and it wasn’t your idea, I wouldn’t worry about it. In that case, if you end up grabbing his ass, it would be his fault.”

Laughter bubbled out of Casey, but he lifted his head to peek up at me. “But you wouldn’t be…I don’t know…jealous? What would…Roman have said? That’s his name, right? He makes me nervous and I keep forgetting it.”

I leaned closer and kissed Casey’s forehead. “Yes, that’s his name. Roman’s all bark and no bite as long as you’re not Eli.” I smiled as another blush crept up Casey’s face. “And to answer your other question, no, I wouldn’t be jealous because I would understand your intentions.”

I couldn’t decide from the careful look on his face what he was thinking, so I continued. “We’re a touchy-feely bunch, and most of the time there’s someone in a questionable stage of dress for a ridiculous reason. But it’s never anything to get jealous of.”

Casey nodded slowly. “Okay.”

“Oh, baby, that’s not enough of a response this time.” I smiled as the blush he’d been fighting crept up his face. “Did anything besides Eli’s insanity make you uncomfortable today?”

He shook his head. “No.”

Then he curled back into me and sighed. “The way you look at them has never made me feel…well, I never even thought of you getting serious with any of them. You just don’t look at them that way.”

“Good.” I kissed the top of his head and chuckled as he wiggled closer.

Oh,the things I wanted to do to him and with him…but we were nowhere near that point yet. “I have no desire to let you go tonight, but I want to give you time to think.”

Casey stiffened and started to pull away, so I tightened my grip. “I’m not ready to let you escape just yet.”

There was another quiet giggle as he relaxed. “I don’t really want to escape.”

His quiet honesty had my insides whirling. “I’m glad. I’d like to see you again this week after you’ve had a chance to think.”

He was quiet for a moment. “Think about what?”

“Think about dating me even though I still have to talk to you at work sometimes. Think about what I said at dinner about submission. I’m pretty sure you’ll have questions for me eventually.” The way his body moved against mine as I brought up submission said he had more than a few questions. Something was clearly going through his head.

“Okay, I’ll think about…what you’ve said.” The careful way he said it gave me the feeling he was ready to change the subject.

“Do you want to go out to dinner on Wednesday?”

“That sounds good, but how about…how about you come over to my place instead?” He cautiously offered up the invitation, and I knew how hard it had been for him.

“I would love that.” I couldn’t resist teasing him just a bit. “It will give us a chance to talk about everything you’re curious about.”

He must have heard the smile in my voice because he groaned. “You’re terrible.”
