I shot him a look as he pulled me back on the bed, causing me to squeal.
"You're insatiable."
"Shut up and kiss me," Theo growled as I wriggled out of his grasp, holding his gaze as he stopped moving.
"Uh, oh. I knowthatlook," he sighed as he collapsed onto the bed.
"Theo, what happens now?" I whispered as he stroked the palm of my hand with his thumb.
"Well, we go to college;fuck, get good grades;keepfucking, get a house..." He tapped his fingers on mine as he grinned.
"Which college, though?" I asked as he lifted my head to his.
"Baby, where are you going?"
I chewed on my lip as I considered my mediocre grades. I didn't want to hold him back, considering he smashed his. "Just the local one that follows on from our school," I admitted, avoiding his gaze.
"It's a good college."
"Youcan't go there," I said, as he pushed his hand through his hair.
"Ican go where I like." Theo scoffed.
My eyes bored into his.
"Yeah, but Ihaveto stay here. I can't afford the dorms anywhere else, plus my grades were merely average. We aren'tallgeniuses."
"I'mnota genius––you did well. Stop putting yourself down," Theo murmured as he pulled me into his arms, kissing my head softly. "My parents want me to go to Brockley."
I froze, realizing that was the furthest one he could go to.
He rubbed my back as he kissed my head.
"But I'm not leaving you."
"Theodore," I said, my eyes filling with tears. "You can't ignore your dreams because of me."
Theo tried to lift my head, but I refused, not wanting him to know I was crying. He sighed as I buried my head into his chest, his arms wrapping around me. "I'd never see you."
I swallowed, determined not to let him know how much it upset me. He was my best friend, and I couldn't let him miss this opportunity.
"Did you get accepted?"
"Yes," he admitted.
I shook my head.
"De Luca, go."
"I chooseyou, though," he argued as I took a deep breath, sitting up.
"We can do long-distance—"
"Fuckthat," he snapped, his eyes studying me intently.
