I couldn’t quite believe I was sitting here, my legs wrapped around the one man I had seen almost every day for my entire life. The one I swore I felt nothing for. Yet here I was, wishing he would stay in my room forever.

“Nope,” I whispered as we kissed again. This time none of us pulled away until we heard the front door slam.

“I’m going in the shower!” We heard Caleb yell, and our eyes met in a panic. We jumped apart, Gabe moving behind the door, rolling his eyes at my reaction.

“Worth it,” he mouthed to me as I giggled. We waited until I heard the shower turn on, and I ushered him towards the door.

“Pretend like you just showed up.”

“Wearing the same clothes as yesterday?!” he hissed before I kissed him, hard, on the mouth, pushing him out of the door.

I leaned against the door as laughter shook my shoulders, imagining poor Gabe, trying to explain away the slept-in clothes.

“Gabe. Didn’t realize you stayed here last night.”

Oh, God.

DAD.

CHAPTER 16

CALEB

Ifrowned upon hearing voices outside. I pulled open the bathroom door, steam billowing out before me—I call it my God entrance. Gabe nodded at me as I walked out, and Dad carried on talking like I wasn’t there.

“One thing led to the next, and before I knew it, I woke up on the sofa. Left my delicious wife upstairs in bed alone, fuckinginsane. Stick to whiskey, boys. Stick to whiskey. Where did you sleep then?” He grinned as Gabe paused, looking like a deer in headlights.

“Uh…”

“He didn’t stay here last night,” I said, puzzled.

Dad frowned, looking back at Gabe as Alice’s door swung open, nearly ripping it from its hinges.

“What’s wrong with you all? Some of us are trying tosleep! Dad, your voice is so loud! Caleb, why do you have to shout when you’re going to shower?! No onecares!”

She slammed the door shut behind her, and Dad raised his eyebrows at me. Summer opened her door, rubbing her eyes, then glared at us.

“She’s got a point. ItisSaturday.”

Dad made a show of tiptoeing away, making a face at us, and I turned to see Summer and Gabe standing awkwardly.

“Weren’t you wearing that last night?” I laughed, noticing Gabe had slept in his clothes. “Did you get pissed with my Dad? Fuck’s sake, Gabe, if you wanna get hammered, do it with me, you sad sack.”

He laughed, his eyes flickering over to Summer. She leaned against the doorway, too much of her legs on display. She saw me glance down at her legs, and she groaned in response.

“Cale, I’m athome. Get agrip.”

“I’m sure Gabe doesn’t wanna seeyouin all your glory. I’m gonna get ready. Gabe, what are you up to, man? What’re your plans?”

I walked into my room, tossing the towel on the floor as I dressed, my cock still aching from fucking. I needed to find someone new. Sasha was too clingy. She’d texted me twice since I left. One was a photo of her in new underwear, whichwashot—I’m not gonna lie—-but the other was asking who I was thinking of taking to prom.

“Fuckingprom,” I muttered, running a brush through my hair, noticing Gabe sitting on my bed.

“Dude, you look like blonde Jesus. Like some sort of hobo. What’s going on?” He shrugged, and I turned to him. “Who are you taking to the prom? Kennedy?”

A door slammed somewhere behind me, and I swore under my breath. Why spend so long bitching about noise if they were gonna make more?

Fucking crazy.
