But then his fingers slipped into my hair, his lips smashing against mine as I felt him moving us upwards to a sitting position, pulling me onto his lap. I wrapped my legs around him, my bare skin against his stomach where his top had ridden up in his sleep. He kissed me hungrily, his tongue effortlessly sliding into my mouth.

His hands slid up my t-shirt, and he pressed his palm into my back, trying to pull me deeper into him, despite already being as close as we could. I pulled away slightly, our foreheads against one another as we breathed rapidly, both staring at each other as though we had just met for the first time.

“Fuck,” he muttered, and I laughed in response.

“Did you like that, Gabriel?”

His eyes darkened, and his lips met mine again, this kiss even better than the last.

“Fuck, you’re making me hard. You need to stop,” Gabe groaned as I pushed him back onto the bed. Straddling him, I continued to kiss him, despite him trying to talk.

I could feel how hard he was, but that just excited me instead of terrifying me as it had with any other guy. His hands gripped my thighs as we explored each other’s mouths, desperately battling for something we would never win.

“Summer...”

I pulled away, my heart hammering in my chest. “Yes?” I said as he gazed back at me with his insanely blue eyes. I wanted to kiss him again and again but could sense something was holding him back.

“I truly like you.”

“But?” I asked, fear creeping into my voice.

He searched my eyes before kissing me again. “But nothing, don’t be negative,” he chuckled as he moved my hair behind my ear. “I just want you to know. I’ve liked you forever.”

I smiled, kissing his nose as I sat up, my fingers lacing with his.

“Yeah? Whatever happened to, ‘I don’t see you like that?’” I teased, raising my eyebrows.

“Had to make you work for it, didn’t I?”

“Hardly,” I snorted as his eyes softened. “What does this mean then?”

He sat back up, moving up, so we were back in our position from earlier, my legs wrapping around his waist.

“I’m a dead man walking?” he smirked, sweeping his gaze over me. “Fucking worth it, though.”

I groaned, thinking of Caleb’s reaction, then Dad’s.

“I’ll keep this a secret.” I smiled sadly, and he nodded, silently agreeing while wrapped in each other’s arms.

“One question, then. How thefuckam I getting out of this house alive?”

I burst out laughing before his mouth met mine again, our kiss deepening before he pulled away.

“That’s it. I need a cold shower.Now.”

“Hmm...” I smirked, and he tutted at me.

“So. I have a question.”

“Okay…?”

“What about Kennedy?” I bit my lip, my eyes on his. The air felt stifling as I waited for his response, my head whirring with what I would do if he said he was still into her.

“Summer—if you want me—I’m yours.”

“I want you,” I murmured, running my hand through his silky curls. His lips turned to my wrist, kissing it lightly.

“Right, so. No more JT, or Jett or...anyone,” he growled, pulling me closer to him.
