“I’m sure they will. I’m going to talk some other guy into mating with me after I get there. I hit it off with a few of the shifters who live there while I was on vacation, and I’m hoping I’ll be able to convince one of them.”
“That’s your plan?”
“Yup.”
“It’s a horrible plan.”
I glared at him over my shoulder. “I’m out of options. And time. Bad plans are all I have right now.”
He glared back.
I shut the dishwasher and feigned a yawn. “Now is a great time for a nap. You probably have work to do. See you in a few hours.”
Without a backward glance, I walked back to the couch I’d slept on.
And forced myself to try going back to sleep.

MADISON
Bo leftme alone for the rest of the day.
When he made dinner, we ate it silently.
We watched an action movie without talking about it afterward, and I fell asleep on the couch pretty early
Loud wind whistling outside woke me up partway through the night. I sat up and looked around the cabin, but didn’t see Bo.
It seemed safe to assume the man had gone to his room.
I shuffled over to the window on my way to the bathroom, and stared at the forest outside the cabin for a few long moments before I finally blinked.
And blinked again.
Because it was snowing.
Heavily.
Worse than it had been the night before.
Not good.
I watched the falling snow for a good, long time before finally letting out a soft sigh and going the rest of the way to the bathroom.
On the way back to the couch, I passed Bo’s room and peeked inside.
The bed was rumpled, but empty.
My stomach tightened at the thought of being trapped in his cabin alone.
What if he’d gone out for something? He could survive out there much better than I could, considering how huge he was. But still.
My heart beat quickly.
He had probably just gone back to his makeshift bed in the garage. Logic told me that.
But I had to check. To make sure.
