I narrowed my eyes at him.

Technically I was the boss, since I ran the money aspect of everything, but Nolan had his own operation being the enforcer in the business and his private dealings.

“Call me if you get any info out of him.” I started for the door of the warehouse.

“She’s changing you,” Nolan called out. “I know that’s why you’re rushing out, to get back to her like she’s gonna disappear. You spend more time at home working instead of here or even in your office. It’s all because of her, isn’t it? I knew something was up when you didn’t kill her dad.” Amusement bounced around his tone toward the end.

I ignored him, not bothering to give him a response. As I tossed my hand up, I heard him laugh behind me.

Nolan made a valid point. Since Azeira my routine had switched up from normal. The only time I came to the warehouse now was when someone needed to be handled. I handled a lot of my money collection at home, same with my financial business. If I didn’t have to physically go into the office, I didn’t.

I walked to my truck and stepped inside. I had no worries that Nolan and the guys would get the answers we needed by the end of the night.

I stepped off the elevator onto the floor Azeira was on and walked to the waiting room. I saw Jatavia was now here with her. Her dad was off to the side on his own, leaned back in the chair with a long expression on his face.

“Glad to see you follow directions,” I said, making myself known.

Her head shot up and six eyes landed on me. Jatavia and Jeremy both stared at me with disdain, while Azeira’s face was plastered with confusion and something else.

I took a seat across from her and widened my legs, keeping my eyes locked on her.

“I didn’t think you would be back so soon,” she said.

“Disappointed?” I smirked.

Slowly, she shook her head, tucking part of her bottom lip into her mouth. Indifference passed through her eyes. Azeira wanted to see me as the villain, that was clear, but she was conflicted because I realized she was starting to have feelings for me too. Her eyes weren’t as daring or defiant when she looked at me now. Sometimes they blared with yearning. Since learning I wasBeastit seemed she was less guarded than before too. Still, I knew she hated feeling like she did because she always tried to hide it, but her mask wasn’t as strong as she believed.

“Why is he here?” I heard her friend whisper.

Azeira shifted her gaze to her friend for a brief second then brought it back to me.

“Azeira.”

“Not now.” She shut her friend down without taking her eyes off me. Smirking, I blew her a kiss and winked at her. Her cheeks flushed and her mouth pinched.

“I need to talk to you.” I lifted my head and stared at Jeremy. His stance toward me hadn’t changed since he noticed me. If he could murder me right now and get away with it, he would, but he wasn’t as connected as me.

I stood and walked off. I could feel Azeira’s curious eyes watching me and her dad.

Crossing my arms I leaned on the wall and waited for him to say whatever he had to say. Jeremy trying to look intimidating was comical to me.

“Whatever game you’re playing, don’t. Now isn’t the time!”

My face dropped and my eyes narrowed. “I advise you to fix your tone, unless you want to end up in one of these rooms next to your wife.”

His nostrils flared but he relaxed some and took a step back from me. “What did you do to my daughter?” His stance might have been less threatening but venom still dripped off his tone. “I see how she looks at you now and it’s not how it once was.”

One corner of my mouth rose. “If I answered you wouldn’t be a happy father. I can, however, show you if you want to know.” Again he flared his nostrils and his face pinched. His brows drew together in a heavy scold. Azeira was still unaware of the camera in her room. She didn’t know it, but it caught everything from that night.

His voice shook. “You better not have touched her.”

I chuckled and pushed myself off the wall. “I did more than just touch her. Iownedher, just like I said I would. You should have thought about what I would do to her before you allowed her to give herself to me.” I turned and walked back to the waiting area.

I took my seat and Jeremy came stomping behind me. He stood directly in front of his daughter, seething. “You let that monster touch you!” His voice boomed and he pointed a shaky finger in her face.

A shocked expression appeared on Azeira’s face. She shot her eyes to me then back to her dad. Her mouth opened then closed.

“Answer me! You were supposed to be his maid, not open your legs like some whore!” He grabbed her arm and shook her. My chest filled with fury and a veil of rage covered me as blood pounded through me.
