In the light of day, she was just as insatiable. Reaching his hand between them, he slid his fingers along her slick folds. Caressing her, bringing her to orgasm within seconds, he’d quickly discovered exactly how to drive her wild with just his touch.

As she crested, he was so hard and ready, he slid into her. Squeezing around him, she climaxed higher and rolled her hips with his. Each time they joined, it was a little more intense, more satisfying, more... everything.

She came again and again, massaging his thick cock until his vision was clouded and they released with electrifying finality together.

Collapsing atop her, he groaned with exhaustion. Breath gradually calming, she stroked her hand through his hair in a lazy motion.

Stunned, he realized how foolishly impulsive they’d been. He groaned and said, “We, uh... we probably should have had the condom conversation about twelve hours ago.”

Her cozy chuckle soothed him more than anything she could have said. “Excellent point. I’m blaming the hypothermia. If it helps, I have an IUD and haven’t had sex in months.”

Pausing, he calculated, struggling to figure out how that had happened. “Didn’t you and Ryder just break up a few days ago?”

“Yeah. As previously stated, it had been coming on for a while.”

He sat up and smiled devilishly at her. “Well, you won’t hear any complaints from me on that end of things. Now, let’s never mention it again.” Reaching across the blankets, he found his pants again. “I just had my annual physical. Clean bill of health, STD screening included.” He flashed her a grin and winced as he pulled his damp clothes back on.

She found her jeans, saturated and a few degrees above freezing, and whimpered as she pulled them over her hips. She glared at her wet socks.

Covered in snow and chilled to the bone, they hopped back in the car after manually digging out a path to gain traction before trudging through the wall of snow. Dark circles shadowed under his eyes, and she knew he hadn’t slept more than ten-minute intervals. Every time she’d started shivering, he’d started the engine again.

Claire peered over Grady’s shoulder as he checked his incoming text from Ryder via Hattie’s phone. Grady tossed the phone down and fired up the engine. “Now that she knows we’re alive, Patricia has requested to redirect the plows so her party can go on as scheduled. I suspect the road crews are laughing their asses off at her request. They might have other priorities, like the hospital and the power company.”

“At least she prioritized your life.”

He chuckled under his breath. “That is a plus.” Gaining traction, the SUV puffed up the hill, every few wheel turns skidding despite four-wheel drive and hefty tires. “I don’t want to go to that damn gala.”

“Me neither.” Claire couldn’t suppress a whimper. “I’m so hungry.”

“What, half of a protein bar for breakfast wasn’t enough for you?”

“Puh-hoo. I have a caffeine headache. And I’m cold.” She rotated her side of the air vents toward her and shifted the driver’s side vents toward him.
