Alauni

I wanted to stop staring at him. But for some reason, my eyes kept lingering in his direction, watching as he leaned against the railing in front of the bleachers, surveying the area. I couldn’t stop measuring the stretch of his smile and admiring just how deep his dimples dipped into his brown sugar cheeks. Every chance that he could, I hoped that he would glance back at me. But when he did, I made sure to look away, not wanting to make it too obvious that I was obsessing over him in every way.

Law Montgomery was the man that I'd seen in my dreams a million times without even knowing it. It was ironic that his name was Law, seeing as he was a cop. In fact, he was the sexiest cop that I'd ever laid eyes on and he packed a lot of heat. Heat that I was hoping extended all the way down to his lower region. If so, it was something that I was definitely willing to try out. But, only to get the dick…I didn't date cops. Especially not ones with a smile as charming as his. That was a for sure sign that his ass was crazy, and I wasn't interested in having another crazy man in my life.

Been there, done that…I’m still in recovery.

But on another note, getting some dick was high on the top of my list, especially after going months without getting any. I was tired of holding out in hopes of finding someone that was actually worth giving it up to. Clearly, that wasn’t going to happen. I’d been on several dates and the pickings were slim. I couldn’t even find someone that I was sexually attracted to.

But something told me that this would be different.

Law would be different.

In my mind, all I had to do was sleep with him and be on my way.

That was the lie I told myself several months ago.

That night, I did something that I wouldn’t normally do. Shortly after the high school football game ended, I walked up to Law and introduced myself. As soon as our hands connected, the vibe was like nothing I’d ever felt before.

But I just chalked that up to me being horny and my pussy trying to tell me that he was the one to save me from my drought.

We talked for a few minutes before leaving the field and heading to a nearby coffee shop. I didn’t intend to hold a lengthy conversation. My goal was to learn enough about him to make sure that he wasn’t married, hiding three or four baby mamas and most importantly, he wasn’t a serial killer.

But three hours later, I’d learned way more about him than I needed to know. By the time we were done talking not only was my pussy intrigued, but so was my heart.

You know, that love at first sight kind of shit.

But I didn’t want that to be the case, so I tried to sabotage it by having sex with him in his car on the first night.

I was pretty sure that he would think I was a hoe and never talk to me again. But that didn’t happen. In fact, we had sex several more times after that. Before I knew it, my ass was in love and cutting him off was my only option.

Five months, and I had managed to keep my distance.

Now, I was forced to do something that I never thought I would have to do.

“Is this a joke?” I questioned, looking between Denver and Law as I stood in the principal’s office, trying not to blow a gasket.

“No, this isn’t,” Denver replied. “Meet your new assistant coach and gym teacher, Law—”

“Fuck the introductions. You know damn well that we know each other.”

Smiling, Denver placed his hands on top of his chair and gave it a little squeeze. Something he did when he was trying his best to hold back his amusement. “Aren’t you always the one telling me that I shouldn’t be using that kind of language in the school environment?”

“Yet, you never listen,” I spat. “Besides, the door is closed, and everyone knows better than to come into your office when the door is closed.”

“Look, Alauni,” Law said as he took a step forward, smiling at me like wasn’t shit wrong. “I’m not here to cause any problems. I’m just here to do a job. You know I’m not a cop anymore.”

“I’m aware of that.”

His grin grew even bigger. “You’ve been checking up on a brother, huh?”

“No, I haven’t. We live in a small town. Word travels.”

“Mmhmm. I don’t believe you, but I know how you are.”

“Don’t do that, Law. Don’t pretend like you know me.”
