“Oh…ummmm, I don’t know if that’s the best idea.”
“Well, why wouldn’t it be?”
“We barely know each other. It doesn’t seem like the smartest idea to spend the weekend in a man’s house I barely know.”
“I can see that, but we both know that deep down your heart knows that I’m a good man and that you would be safe with me.”
Time continued to pass before he heard her whisper out an answer.
“Okay. I’ll come stay the weekend with you.”
Miles barely contained the excitement that came over him. He didn’t want to scare her and risk her changing her mind.
“What days do you work this weekend?”
“I work Friday night and then I’m off again until Tuesday.”
“Great. How about I pick you up Friday night after work and our weekend together can start then?”
“Well considering I don’t have a car anymore I don’t really have a choice there now do I?”
Miles loved to see her sassy side come out to play. He knew that there would never be a dull moment with his Little girl.
Tickling her sides until she was squirming in his lap, begging for mercy, Miles replied “No, you Little Minx. You will always have a choice. You hold all the power here, babygirl. Don’t ever forget that.”
Miles wanted to make sure that she understood that she has the power in their relationship. He might be the Daddy, but without the consent of his darling girl that meant nothing and she needed to know that.
They continued to just sit there in silence as the sun continued to set. It wasn’t long before he heard the faint snoring sounds coming from Olivia.
It pleased his heart to know that she felt comfortable enough to fall asleep in his arms.
Not ready to let her go just yet, Miles reclined back just a little bit more and closed his own eyes.
He planned to rest for a few minutes before lying her down in the bed and leaving for the night.
CHAPTER NINE
OLIVIA
Olivia doesn’t know how she ended up in her bed last night. She remembered sitting with Miles on the couch just talking and not much after that.
She must have fallen asleep on him. How embarrassing! Olivia hopes that she didn’t do anything crazy in her sleep.
Before she got a paci, she would suck her thumb. She has a habit of going back to that sometimes.
Given how her luck always seems to go, there was a good possibility that she did just that last night. She pulled Nibbles closer, it seems like Miles made sure to put her within reach of her.
“Nibbles, I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
“It’s not safe for me to get close to someone else, especially a man who I have no chance of being with. I just can’t seem to let him go just yet.”
Olivia rolled her eyes at Nibbles' exasperated sigh. She thinks that Liv is worrying too much, but how could she not. David was still out there.
“He invited me over this weekend to his house. What if he expects something from me?”
The pinging of her phone cut off the sassy response she knew Nibbles would have for her.
Miles: Good morning, Little Bunny. I hope that you slept well.
