“I need the words, Little Bunny. A head shake will not suffice here. I will always require you to give me a verbal answer no matter what the question is.”

“Yes, Miles. I understand. It won’t happen again.”

The smile Miles graced her with warmed her heart and made her blush. She doesn’t understand why this man has such an effect on her. She should be scared of him not longing for him.

Standing, Miles walked over and stood before her. Leaning down slowly as if he was waiting for her to flinch away from him again, he pressed a kiss upon her forehead.

“I’m going to leave now, sweet girl. I will text you tomorrow when I have information about your car. Now, come lock the door behind me.”

Following him to the door, she stood to the side as he lingered a few seconds longer. She could tell that he wanted to do something, but seemed worried about how she would react to it.

Olivia didn’t know what came over her, but next thing she knew, she had stepped forward and pressed her lips against his.

Trying to quickly step back after she realized what she had done, she was stopped by Miles’ hands wrapping around her back.

Holding her in place, Miles pressed his lips against hersagain in a bruising kiss that would have made her grandma blush. Breaking apart he smiled down at her and winked.

“Be a good girl, Olivia. Lock the door behind me and don’t stay up too late.”

She nodded her head and closed the door behind him before slipping the locks into place. Olivia leaned against the door rubbing her lips.

Not a clue where the brave Olivia came from, but she couldn’t find a single feeling of remorse about what happened. It was completely out of character for her to behave that way.

Even when she was with David, Olivia never was bold enough to initiate intimacy with him. Then, when he started showing his true colors, she tried everything in her power to not do anything intimate with him without showing her true feelings about it.

She didn’t want to think about what could have happened if he had sensed the fear she had every time he made any sort of sexual advance. The physical and emotional abuse was enough.

Olivia doesn’t think she would have survived as long as she did if he had begun to push himself upon her. Pushing those thoughts to the dark hole in the back of her mind, she went into the bathroom, and started a bath slipping out of her clothes on the way.

Relaxing in the tub and snuggling up with Nibbles and a good book afterwards seemed like the perfect way to end her night.

CHAPTER EIGHT

MILES

Miles was sitting at his desk when his phone rang. Looking down he noticed it was his buddy that owned the garage that Olivia’s car was at.

“Hey, Anthony.”

“Hey Miles, I was calling about that car that you had towed in last night.”

“Yeah. What’s wrong with it?”

“Well what isn’t wrong with it would be a better question. Man this car has seen better days and honestly wouldn’t even be worth saving.”

This was what Miles was afraid of. Knowing that his Little girl had been driving around in a death trap made his heart race.

He was even more thankful that when the belt broke last night she had no harm come to her. Miles would forever pray to whatever God was up there for keeping his darling safe.

“Give it to me. What’s wrong with it?”

“Well you know that the timing belt broke, but it also needsnew spark plugs, the radiator has a crack in it, worn piston rings, worn brake pads, bad tires. Need I go on?”

“No man, I got it. Basically we either spend a lot of money to fix everything or we just scrap it.”

“My recommendation is to scrap it, but not my call. I know that I wouldn’t ever want my Little girl to ride in something like this.”

Miles grinned at his comment. He had never known for certain if Anthony was a Daddy, but he always triggered his senses. Guess he knows now.
