It was important that she trust him if he ever thought there was a chance to see the Little that was lurking under the surface.

It pleased him to know his suspicions were true and that she was the Little girl he has been searching for.

Cleaning up their mess at the table, Miles escorted Liv out of the coffee shop.

“I’ve had fun today, Little Bunny, and I would love the opportunity to continue to get to know you.”

“I think I would like that, too.”

Miles grinned at her before bending down to press a small kiss upon her forehead. He loved the small gasp that she made at the action and filed that information away for the future.

He stood in front of the coffee shop and watched his babygirl walk away until he couldn’t see her any longer. Whistling, Miles made his way back to his truck and climbed inside before turning and heading towards his house.

Putting a leash on Diesel, Miles decided to take a walk to the nearest park. It wasn’t often that he had the afternoon free, so he wanted to take advantage of it and allow Diesel to have a chance to be outside and around other animals and people.

Miles was still slowly working on his behavior when it came to outsiders. Diesel has made amazing growth in the last year and Miles would hate for him to fall behind again.

After their walk in the park, Miles settled in for the night. Today had been a great day and he couldn’t have been happier with how things had gone.

Pulling out his phone, he pulled up his messages with Olivia and read back over their previous conversations before typing out a new one.

Miles: Shall we play a game, Little one?

Olivia: What kind of game?

Miles: We can play a round of 21 questions. I can start if you would like.

Olivia: I haven’t played 21 questions since I was probably in high school.

Olivia: Sure lets play lol

Miles: I’ll start easy… #1: What’s your favorite color?

Olivia: You’re telling me you couldn’t guess that lol? My favorite color is pink!! I love all shades of pink and wear it as often as I can.

Olivia: #2: what’s your favorite thing to eat?

Miles: I don’t have a favorite. I’ll eat almost everything if it taste good.

Miles: #3: If you could do anything in the world, what would it be?

Olivia: I think I would become a social worker. I would want to help battered women and children during their time of need.

Miles took a minute to think about what she said. Could this be because someone in her life experienced abuse? Or maybe she grew up in that situation first hand and wants to pay it forward.

Miles: Oh, that’s an interesting choice. Why that particular field of social work?

Olivia: Uhhh.. No real reason. I just think it would be interesting and that I could be a big help to those in that situation.

Miles wasn’t convinced of that answer, but wasn’t going to push much farther.

Miles: Well I think you would make an amazing social worker.

Miles: It’s getting late though, Little one. I think someone needs to get ready for bed.

Olivia: I don’t have a bedtime and I’m not even tired.

Olivia: But if an old man like you needs his beauty rest, well I won’t stand in your way.
