She pulsated around him while he took every last vibration, committing it to memory.
And then her tone turned soft.“Mmm…Sebastian.”Her moans blanketed over him while she clenched around his cock, soaking him.
He was done for.Whatever restraint or resolve he had employed up until this point shattered. She was his.
Chapter 5
“MayIhavethisdance?”With an extended hand, Sebastian’s brooding eyes bore into her.She wet her lips as her toes jittered within her slippers.
It was only the next evening and already things were in motion. There were balls every night during the summer, including this one at the Duke of Wellingford's place. She wasn't even sure if he was here, he'd been away on the continent for so long after tragedy hit his family.Perhaps if she had known for certain that he was around, she might have approached him for help.He seemed like a good duke.
But that was besides the point. The point right now was that Sebastian was here. And he was the one who could help her immediately.Thankfully the London season was in full swing, so it was easy to coordinate their attendance.Yet standing here, among the throng of people, threads of candlelight, and thrum of music, Seraphina almost felt as though this was the first dance she had ever attended.
This was the plan. That he woo her and then propose. It was a marriage of convenience, maybe in many more ways than Seraphina had anticipated, considering the euphoria of last night that she was still processing. But she had to keep reminding herself of the fact that it wasn’t real.It was all an arrangement to help each other.
Even though last night it was as if she had been reborn.
Her eyes were opened to a new world of pleasure and desire.Conflictingly though, the man of sin had been the one to show her this new light. He was supposed to be the darkness. It felt impossible to reconcile the two images of him.
Not only that, but Seraphina could sense Lenora tensing beside her.For all the times Seraphina had forbidden her sister from flapping her fan or batting her lashes in his direction, guilt was heaped upon her now.
Would it be easier to tell Lenora the truth?Perhaps, but then she wouldn’t idolize her father anymore knowing that he had been the one to lose everything.
No.This was best.At least this way Lenora would be upset with Seraphina for only a short time. She would get over it soon enough.
“But—” Lenora was cut off by an elbow nudge from Seraphina.
“I would love to dance.”She ignored the heat that flared in her hand at the contact with Sebastian’s palm, and she gave a quick warning look to her sister before taking to the floor.
Sebastian pulled her into the posture for a waltz, but the space between them was provocatively small.
“Don’t you think this is a bit scandalous?Holding me this close for everyone to see?”she asked through a tight smile.
“It wouldn’t be believable if it wasn’t.”
“Do explain.”
Her fingers lifted under his small shrug.
“If we want people to believe that I’ve fallen for you and am proposing marriage, then this is how I would hold my intended.”
A harrumph ought to put him in his place. It did not.It only resulted in her being pulled an inch closer.
“I can hardly breathe my own air, Sebastian.”
“Breathing your own air is highly overrated.”
“That’s hypocritical coming from you.The man who lives alone, valuing his independence above all else.”
Finally, he pulled back a touch, giving her some room.Only, it didn’t feel like more room because the intensity of his eyes locked her in place.
“Perhaps I found a reason to share my air.”
“You’ve been close with people before. Why should I trust you now?”
His brows knit together almost in a duel.“To whom exactly are you referring?”
“There are many. But the Duke of Westhaven and the Duke of Winthorpe come to mind first.”
