“How so?”
“The way you presented yourself. You didn’t throw yourself at me. You were timid. I could tell you were in this for other reasons. And maybe one day you’ll tell me that reason?” His last sentence was a cross between a question and a statement.
“Maybe. One day,” I offered a genuine smile. I wasn’t sure why, but if I was to trust someone fully and open up to them, I had a feeling it would be Kian.
“Holding you to it, beautiful,” he kissed the tip of my nose. “So, are you up to leaving here and heading home with me? I’ll even cook you breakfast in the morning.”
“Breakfast?” I gasped dramatically. “You know how to cook, sir?”
“Yes, smart butt. I know how to cook,” he chuckled. “Or we could fly somewhere and enjoy the day.”
“Fly somewhere?” My eyes widened. He made it seem so simple.
“Of course. We could fly down to Florida or fly across the country to Colorado and enjoy the day in the cold weather. Whatever your heart desires.”
I was flabbergasted. The man never ceased to amaze me.
“You make it seem so easy?”
“Why wouldn’t it be?” His eyebrow rose. “You say the word, I’ll make one phone call. The plane will be fueled and ready for us within the hour.”
“No, that’s okay,” I shook my head. “That’d be a waste of money.”
“Giselle,” he laughed slightly. “I just spent a pretty penny on this. Taking my plane so we can spend time together is not a waste of money.”
“Ladies’ man,” I teased.
Chapter Twelve
Kian
“Far from it,” I rolled my eyes and laughed. “I work a lot and prefer to be alone besides a handful of friends.”
“Then why are you willing to bring me to your house or fly somewhere to hangout?”
I should have known that question was coming. Hell. I wondered the same damn thing.
“Just feels different, I guess.” I shrugged nonchalantly to downplay the anxiety coursing through my veins.
“You guess?” she asked amused.
“Yes,I guess,” I joked. Giselle hid her face against my chest and laughed.
“We’re a hot mess.”
“Agreed.” She couldn’t see me but I nodded several times.
Nothing about tonight had gone as planned. In my mind, I would walk into the room, toss thevirginon the bed and have my way with her. No talking. No emotions. Just sex. However, when I came into the room and was face-to-face with the Puerto Rican goddess all reason left me. There was just something about Giselle.
“Safeword?” I sat up and lifted her up so that she was sitting up too.
“Safeword?” she asked with an eyebrow rose.
“Now is the time to use the safeword if you’re going to use it. Otherwise, I’m going to throw you over my shoulder and carry you into the shower. Then we’re going to wash up, get dressed and head to the airport.”
“Like a caveman?” she giggled.
“Exactly like a caveman,” I grinned.
