“We have a plan in place. I’m asking ye boys to let us handle it. And that means not getting ye lasses involved.” Will Sr stared at Highlander and Marcus in warning.
“You mean not getting us involved in talking with Interpol about their investigation into Madeline and Felicity?” Pratt asked as she walked up on the men, Lindsey in tow.
Several rounds of ‘shite’ could be heard from the five men standing around. Pratt and Raso looked at each other in amusement before looking at their husbands and then the other three men. Both women then crossed their arms over their chest as they waited for the men to answer them.
“Wait, did ye say they were under investigation with Interpol?” Will Sr asked, confusion in his voice as he looked between the two women.
“Yep, Catherine confirmed it with the two of us when Laura almost took Felicity’s head off for the way she talked to one of the kids. When she yelled at Ryleigh and called her some Scottish word, I had to get her out of the house. Sylvia and Elizabeth have the kids in another room while Jack and Tommy deal with Polin who’s a little bitch, by the way. Sorry pops but you boys dropped that one on his head way too much or something.” Lindsey informed the men.
“What did she say?” Highlander asked, his voice going cold, walking towards his wife.
“The bitch, your family and Lindsey refuses to allow me to beat called our daughter a howling hackit bampot.” Pratt growled at her husband, hands on her hips.
“Laura went after her when Felicity pushed Ryleigh out of her way…”
“That bitch put her hand on my daughter?” Highlander growled, glaring towards the house.
“Calm down son. Let me and ye mum handle this. Lasses, that doesn’t explain how ye know there is an investigation with Interpol.” Will Sr asked, stepping next to Pratt and Highlander.
“I had just handed Aurora to Elizabeth when that twatcuntsiphilis pushed my daughter and said what she said. I went after her when Catherine and Colin pulled me back. Colin whispered to let it go that she wouldn’t be a part of the family much longer because she was under investigation along with Madeline. Catherine confirmed it.”
“I brought her outside. They followed us outside and stated she and Madeline are under investigation for a black widow ring.” Lindsey announced to the group.
“Black widow ring?” Mike asked in confusion.
“Meaning that they’ve been married before, probably using a different name. Only difference is, where William Jr is still alive, previous partners may not have been so lucky.” Pratt explained to the men, quirking an eyebrow.
“Da, does Polin know about the safety measures in place to prevent Felicity from touching the money?” Mike asked his father, before looking towards the house.
“Nae, ye mum and I didn’t want ye boys to know about it, for safety reasons.” Will Sr said, sheepishly, looking towards Pratt and Raso.
“Will, we don’t want your son’s inheritances. When Joe told me about his family’s money, I walked away.” Pratt sighed, looking into her husband’s eyes. “My parents come from money, my sister chased men who had more, I was expected to marry a man who had political aspirations with more money. I wouldn’t do that. I couldn’t do that.”
“Lass, I know that…” Will Sr started to say.
“No, you don’t know everything. Hell, Joe doesn’t even know everything. I was beaten, humiliated, treated worse than a dog by my family and my ex-husband. Joe tried for months to get me to cave my stance on everything. Theonlyway I agreed to be with him was to have him sign paperwork that states I have no access to his funds, even if something happens to him, a trust is set up for the kids and I have no access to it. I would have to produce receipts for anything that the money is use for and given to the trust if anything happens to him before the kids turn eighteen.” Pratt stated, interrupting Highlander’s father’s protest.
“Same here, sir. Having safety features in place is great. But, the problem is, from what we can find out, those safety’s you’ve put in place, they are only good if there’s an event of a divorce. If Jr or Polin died while they were married, Felicity and Madeline would have gotten whatever they had. Jr is protected now because Madeline and Jr divorced. Polin isn’t protected since he is still married to Felicity.”
“Wait, you don’t think…” Ash asked, stepping towards the women.
“That she’ll have your brother taken out? Yes, I do. She doesn’t care about the kids. I’m surprised she’s gone this far with her rouse. But then again, if she knows your parents don’t trust her, then that’s why she went as far as she did. Madeline to. In fact, Madeline already has her next target, a wealthy dipshit in London. She leaves the kids with a nanny in Glasgow while she’s living the high life in London.” Pratt finished for Ash, glaring at the men.
“Look, Red’s already made a call to a friend of hers that works for Interpol. We did a case with her two years ago when someone from the UK wound up on our doorstep in a human trafficking case. After Colin and Catherine went back inside to help Elizabeth and Sylvia with the kids and keep an eye on things, we contacted Anya. She confirmed there is an investigation into both women and told us why. When we told her who we were married to and why we were asking, she’s requesting a meeting. We’re meeting with her during our stay in London on the trip home.” Lindsey informed Marcus and Highlander, shrugging when they looked at her in shock.
“Anya? Wait, the chick that came in from London, isn’t she the one who put Mike on his arse when he tried to flirt with her?” Highlander asked, amusement showing in the smirk he sent his brother’s way.
“Yep!” Pratt popped her ‘p’ rocking back on her heels, placing her hands in her back pocket, winking at Mike. “He and Bryson had some game going on when they visited us in San Diego at the same time Anya was in town. They had a bet to see who could get into her pants first. It was funny as hell, but neither of them won.”
“Ye are telling me that Madeline is leaving my grandbabies in Glasgow while she’s in London?” Will Sr asked, tightness evident in his voice.
“That’s what’s being told to us, yes. From what we’ve also found out from Anya, she’s telling the new target that her children died, along with their father, in a terrible car accident. She’s also going by a different name. There’s speculation that Felicity has a new target lined up as well. She and Madeline have been seen together dining in London a few times, especially when they find out Tommy, Willie and/or Jack are not in country.” Raso informed her father-in-law.
“Anya also informed us that the ‘all girls trip’ trip the two women took were to the Greek Isles with Madeline’s current target and the possible target for Felicity. According to a source on the inside of Madeline’s target when they were on the trip, Felicity claimed her husband was killed during the war in Afghanistan and that his horrible family took the kids from her. She’s been devastated and has little to no contact with them because of how horrible his family was to her.” Pratt finished up, looking her father-in-law in the eyes.
Several rounds of “shite”, “that fucking bitch” and “fuck” were mumbled between the men.
“What is Anya suggesting?” Highlander asked, looking at Pratt, reading his wife.
