“What will you give us for them?” Blue asked, sternly, negotiating hard.
“What do you want?” Raso asked, looking Blue in the eyes.
“$100”
“Blue! That’s not how we do things and you damn well know it!” Jonsey said, upset with his friend.
“What? That money will feed our group for a week, plus get us warm beds and coats with the winter coming up.” Blue replied, defensively.
“We were already going to supply you guys with food, shelter and warmer clothes, ma’am. SEALs look after their own, even if they are stubborn asses.” Wolf said softly, smiling at the group.
“Asshole” Jonsey grumbled, causing the group to chuckle.
Bones stepped away from the group and came back several minutes later. “Here.” He said as he handed over the purses from both girls.
Shane took the purses and looked into both, finding their phones, wallets, and smartwatches that both girls wore. “Shit!”
“What?” Pratt, York and Raso asked at the same time.
“Their phones, wallets and smart watches are all in here. We got the smartwatches since we can use GPS as well as a tracking device in them in case they lost their phones. I got it for them last year at Christmas when they were talking about their jr year of High School.” Shane said, upset.
“Did they wear any jewelry or anything like that?” Dude asked, concerned, looking down at his wedding ring.
“Tina wore a necklace that Sheila and Eddie got her a few years ago. It was chipped as well. She didn’t wear earrings, thought the ones they had out were tacky and didn’t want to wear them. We bought Dakota a necklace as well that was chipped last year since she is like family to us. Sheila was always worried about her, since the mother obviously wasn’t.”
“Is their necklaces in the purses by chance?” Rocco asked Shane.
“No” Shane laughed, smiling for the first time in a while. “So, there’s a chance we can find them if they were wearing their necklaces today.” Shane turned and ran for the door to get back to Sheila and Eddie.
Chapter 6
Shane ran back to the food court carrying both purses belonging to Tina and Dakota. She ran past the others standing around, coming to an abrupt stop in front of Sheila and Eddie. Shane handed the purses to her in-laws for them to look at.
“Oh my God, you found their purses!” Sheila cried out.
“Yes, they were found in the dumpster in the back alley behind the mall. We have a description that matches what you gave us of the woman and the men that Tex saw on the security cameras. We now have the purses, so hopefully we can find fingerprints. Pratt and the rest her team are ruling out the homeless people that found the items. Their phones and smart watches are in the purses. Do you remember if they had on their necklaces by chance?”
“Yes, it was the necklaces you and Pattrick gave them last year, the best friends necklaces that they never take off, even to shower. They even got into trouble in gym class several times for refusing to take them off.” Sheila answered, lost in thought, remember what the girls were wearing.
“Holy shit! Dad and I had those necklaces chipped as well in case they didn’t wear the other ones they were gotten often.” Pattrick said out loud, looking at his wife then his parents.
“That means they can possibly be tracked?” Sheila asked hopeful.
“It should if we have the chip information. We can give it to Tex and he could find them.” Eddie answered as Wolf and the rest of the group came back in.
“What’s going on?” Diesel asked the group as she walked up to the group.
“Tina and Dakota had on their BFF necklaces according to Sheila. Those are chipped. Tex had them done special for the girls for Eddie and Sheila.” Sheila informed Diesel and the rest of the group walking up.
Wolf pulled out his phone before Shane finished her sentence. “Hey, Shane just said that the girls were wearing their necklace with the chip in it.”
“Give me a minute.”
“Is he able to find them?” Sheila asked hopefully.
“He has me on hold.” Wolf said shrugging.
“Wolf, ask Sheila how many people outside the family knew about the girls being chipped?”
