“How many girls knew that anything on the girls were chipped?” Wolf asked Sheila, Eddie, Shane and Pattrick.
“Just the four of us. The girls weren’t even told about the necklaces being chipped.” Sheila answered instantly, looking over at Eddie, confused.
“The chips aren’t transmitting anything which isn’t good. Nothing should be stopping those chips from transmitting.” Tex said, clearly upset as he clicked away on his keyboard.
“What if they destroyed the necklaces?” Diesel asked out of the blue.
“That means they would have had to know about the chips. No one knows anything about those chips unless it’s someone close to the group and those that would know are all in this group right now.” Wolf answered Diesel, as he looked over at each person individually.
“Wolf is right. Not one person in this group would give that information away because it would expose their own protection for their wives and children as well.” Pratt said out loud. “And none of us would tell anyone outside this group. Sheila, do you think Tina or Dakota would mention isifthey had found out or knew about it?”
“Tina wouldn’t, and I highly doubt that Dakota would as well since she knew our line of work. Dakota was even more tight lipped about the teams as Tina was due to her father’s death.” Eddie answered for Sheila.
“Eddie is right. These girls don’t talk about Eddie or Pattrick as SEALs because they know how it is. They do talk about them as a dad or brother being over-protective. If anyone asks about what they do, they just tell people their dad is military and works on the ships. That’s been the answer they’ve always given, especially since the girls have witness several frog hogs have no compulsion in soliciting the guys in front of them and the wives.” Sheila said, nodding her head, agreeing with her husband.
“If Tex is right, and we know he’s ninety-nine-point nine percent right most of the time, then someone knew about those chips and what items were chipped to get rid of them.” York said for everyone.
“Okay, I found an angle of the cameras that give us a better look at the woman who bumped into Sheila, but she’s clearly aware of the cameras in the mall. She’s covered herself pretty good to not give us a way to identify her.” Tex said, huffing.
“Tex, send a pic if you can, maybe we can do something with it to find her.” Pratt told the computer genius.
“Umm lass, if Tex can’t identify her, then what makes ye think any of us can do something that will.” Highlander asked his wife, amused.
“I don’t know, but I’m not willing to give up the idea that this bitch can’t be identified right now. I’m grasping at straws.”
“And running on fumes. You guys aren’t doing these girls any favors by burning the candles at both ends.” Sheriff Phillips said as he walked into the fray. “Gentlemen, I’ve been in touch with your XO and have cleared it for you guys to be working with my team. It’s rare, actually never heard of, but your friend Tex helped clear the way to make sure all five teams are able to help assist with finding these two. I also know, from talking to him, that you men have been up since four am working just like my team has been kicking ass since three am when they conducted a raid. It is now going on ten pm and the mall is ready to kick us out.”
Sheila started sobbing as the rest of the group started grumbling. Eddie pulled his wife into his arms and held her as she cried. “We’ll find her babe. Have no doubt about it. But the Sheriff is right, we won’t be any good if we are all burnt from lack of sleep and only running on emotions. We need to try and get some rest so we can be fresh mentally when we look at clues. I know these women will not stop until she is found, just like we won’t know until both girls are found as well.” Eddie told his wife as he kissed her head.
“I know. I just hate to think what those two are going through right now.”
“Mom, we will find them. And no matter what they have gone through, myself, and all of Alpha Squad will be behind them all the way as they get the help they need. No matter what we find, they will survive this because they have us in their corner.” Shane told her mother-in-law as she hugged her tightly.
“I’m so lucky to have you in my life. I’m lucky to have all of you in my life.” Sheila said to everyone as she started sobbing again.
After saying good nights and everyone set a time to get together the next day to go over any new developments, everyone went their separate ways to get some rest. Alpha Squad stayed behind with Highlander’s team, Shane, Pattrick, Wolf, Dude, Cookie, and Dominick.
“What’s on ye mind lasses?” Highlander asked, aware of the teams thinking.
“The fact that Tex isn’t getting a transmission from the chips. That’s really bothering me.” Pratt admitted to her husband and everyone else in the group.
“That’s what’s bothering me too.” Sgt. Brocard admitted as well.
“Aside from destroying the chip, what other ways could cause it not to transmit?” Rameriez asked everyone, nibbling on her lower lip as she looked lost in thought.
“Jammers or lead rooms.” Speedy answered before anyone else.
“Lead rooms? Wouldn’t that be counter productive to having oxygen in the room?” Diesel asked, confused by the statement.
“Not if they had vents and the room was large enough. But, in all honesty, led rooms are rare and only for certain things. But, all together not unheard of.” Speedy answered, amused at Diesel’s train of thought.
“What about underground bunkers made with concrete?” Raso asked, not to anyone in particular.
“From Sheila and Blue’s description of the woman, and Tex confirming some of the description, I highly doubt this chick would be willing to climb down a ladder to go underground.” Cortez responded with a chuckle at the thought of the uppity woman climbing down a ladder in heels.
“What if they had a specialized elevator for that? The White House has it, there are even some underground bunkers around the world that have them. It makes sense now that Raso has brought it up. A lot of military bases have underground bunkers with elevators that the transmitters wouldn’t work in.” Dominick said, scratching his head, as he looked at the men in the small group.
“Shit, he’s right.” Wolf and Dude said at the same time.
