“What?” Sgt. Brocard asked, confused.

“Okay, so Pratt and I knew about the photo. One of the girls that went missing, her family just assumed she had a mental breakdown from some pressure she was under and went off with some dude she met online. The sister never believed she would just run off like her parents had believed she did. Like Tina and Dakota, Mary’s phone and electronics were wiped clean. Her body was found a week later about an hour and a half away when the car she was supposedly driving exploded when it wrecked down a ravine.” York told everyone.

“Oh my God! That’s right! The sister has been calling, saying she didn’t buy the whole story.” Rameriez gasped, remembering the case.

“What about the person who hit her?” Shane asked Alpha Squad getting hopeful.

“Looks like his information was fake.” Diesel answered, looking up from her computer screen.

“Hey Diez, look at the DNA on this guy, see if he’s in CODIS. Looks like the officer said he thought the guy had been drinking, so there was blood work done.” Rameriez suggested, pointing to the notes.

“Oh goody, look, he is in the system. This guy’s real name is Niles Whitman and he’s a registered sex offender!” Diesel exclaimed.

“Nice! Where does he live?” Sgt. Brocard asked, picking up her phone.

Diesel laughed, “Well, he was smart to not do the deed in his own backyard. His bogus information shows address in San Francisco. His legal address is here in San Diego, on Metalman Dr.”

“Fuck me running!” Cortez said, shaking her head.

“What now?” Raso asked, worried.

“Mary wasn’t his first. There’s two more in different cities. One was in Los Angeles and the other was in Palm Springs. Each accident, he used a bogus ID card. The one in LA showed an address in San Jose and the accident in Palm Springs showed an address in Sacramento. They also had a fake name on the ID.” Cortez finished up.

“The bodies?” Wolf asked, confused.

“Both cars were burnt to a crisp after they went off a cliff.” Raso replied.

“Fuck!” Everyone said in union.

“Alright, he’s getting his bodies somehow. Let’s figure this shit out! Raso, get his address, let’s go for a ride. Shane, stay here with the guys.” Sgt. Brocard ordered her.

“But…” Shane started to say.

“No! We are going against policy to do what we need to get information from this guy. The Captain has our back, and so does the Sheriff. You and Dominick won’t be as protected as we are, we will not risk your careers.” Sgt. Brocard completed stopping Shane’s comment.

Shane looked at Pratt and York, who both agreed with their sergeant then at Dominick who shrugged. Shane pouted, stomped her foot and then walked back to Pattrick.

“Yep, it’s definitely a family trait.” Dominick joked when Shane walked away.

The men all burst into laughter when Shane and Pratt flipped Dominick the middle finger then ignored him. Highlander gave Pratt a quick kiss before she went to suit up for their visit with a new suspect.

Arriving at the suspect’s house, the team split into two groups. Pratt, Sgt. Brocard, Raso and Rameriez went through the front door while Cortez, Diesel, and York went through the back door, surprising Whitman who was asleep in his recliner. As the team broke thru both doors, yelling ‘Sheriff’s Department,’ was heard by multiple teammates.

“Niles Whitman, you’re under arrest!” Sgt. Brocard said as they handcuffed him. Brocard continued reading Whitman his rights.

Pratt and Raso sat Whitman back into his recliner then stood behind him. The team surrounded him, with Sgt. Brocard standing in front of him.

“So, Mr. Whitman, how did you find Mary and the two other girls you killed?” Brocard asked, direct and to the point.

“Huh? Who are you talking about?” Whitman asked, playing dumb.

“Diesel…” Sgt. Brocard ordered.

Diesel stepped forward, putting leg chains around his ankles, then chaining the legs to the chair he was sitting in. Stepping back, Diesel then grinned at the suspect.

“Last chance douche nozzle.” Diesel quipped.

“Fuck you!” Whitman sneered back at Diesel.
