“That’s not all we found, looks like Arrow is back in town. I’ve found some sightings. Looks like some property was purchased six years ago under a fake name and a small shack was placed there, but there was also some major construction done underground as well.” Oz commented after Tex finished his statement.
“Oz is right. Looks like a large construction project that took nearly two years to complete, but it’s almost like a city from what I can see on the blueprints I was able to find.” Tex finished.
“We’ve found several large rooms that looks like where they hold the girls waiting for the buyers to have them delivered.”
“What was the name on the deed?” York asked Tex, going to her desk to type in the name to do research of her own.
“Jackson Ares” Tex and Oz answered together.
“Never heard of him. Have you been able to find anything about him?” York asked, looking at the room as everyone shook their heads no.
“That’s just it, there’s nothing about him until about six years ago when he bought the land. That’s what caught our eye about everything.”
“What were you able to recover from their laptops and phones?” Pratt asked, looking up the name on her computer.
“That’s even more frustrating for both of us. We’ve tried everything we can to get their history, but everything has been erased, literally from their hard drive.” Tex said, clearly upset about it.
“Is that even possible? Neither one of the girls were that knowledgeable about electronics to do something like that other than how to turn them on, use them and never turn them off.” Eddie said, befuddled about the issue.
“Have you guys talked to any of their friends yet?” Oz asked, typing away on the phone.
“We’re doing that today. Pratt and York are going to talk to one of the boys they are friends with, see if he knows anything.” Sgt. Brocard answered, looking over at Pratt and York to confirm, when they nodded.
“We’re going to see a kid name Taylor Evans. He has classes with the girls and according to one of the teachers is the third musketeer in their group at school. His parents are meeting us at the school at ten this morning for us to talk to him.” York confirmed.
“I know who Taylor is. Good kid has good goals in life. Wants to go to college, supposedly joining the National Guard after graduation while he does college.” Eddie said, looking over at Pattrick to make sure he was remembering right.
“Can I go with you two?” Shane asked the two women.
“Sure, knowing you’re Tina’s sister-in-law may help him be calm.” Pratt smiled at her sister, agreeing for her to come along.
“How could I not know what my daughter was doing or hiding from us?” Eddie whispered, already assuming the worst.
“Kids these days are glued to their electronics, Eddie. I know with you, Pattrick and Shane in her life, you all taught her everything to survive no matter what. We will find her and bring her home.” Sgt. Brocard assured Eddie.
“I know! I’ve done too many ops rescuing women kidnapped. I’m just afraid of what condition…” Eddie started saying.
“Stop!” Cookie demanded at the same time as Shane. It doesn’t matter what condition she will be found in, because she will have all of us there for her every step of the way. She’ll especially have Fee there to help her through every bit of it., just like IknowShane and Alpha Squad will be as well.”
“Eddie, they are both right, kids these days, thanks to the computer age, it’s so freaking easy for them to hide everything. We just don’t know right now, exactly what we are dealing with. We will possibly know more, once we talk to this Taylor kid and a few of their other friends, okay?” Pratt softly said to Eddie, putting a reassuring hand on Eddie’s shoulder.
“I’ll be fine. Go talk to Taylor, find my kid.” Eddie smiled weakly.
Detectives Pratt and York showed up at Riverside High School, with Shane in tow, an hour later. Walking into the admin office, they informed the receptionist who they were and why they were there. The receptionist called the principal to let her know they were there. Fifteen minutes later, they were escorted to a conference room where Taylor, his parents and their family lawyer were waiting for them.
Upon entering the room, they noticed that Taylor seemed extremely nervous, while his parents seemed upset, which explained why they had their family lawyer with them. Pratt and York looked at each other with a raised eyebrow before continuing into the room.
“Mr. and Mrs. Evans, thank you for coming in. I’m Detective Pratt, this is Detective York with Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, and this is Officer Shane Jones with San Diego Police Department. Taylor, thank you for talking with us.”
“And why is Taylor talking with you detectives? I’m Grant Danvers, the family attorney. The Evans are concerned about why you want to talk with their son and retained me to protect their son.”
“Mr. Danvers, we understand. Let us start by saying this, Taylor is not in any trouble. We need his help. You see, my sister Tina and her best friend Dakota were kidnapped the other day. We know Taylor was considered the third musketeer in their group here at school, did study groups after school and even talked with them outside of school as well. We just wanted to talk with him, in front of his parents, since he is a minor.” Shane partially pleaded with the Evans and their attorney.
“Help with what?” Mr. Evans asked, the three women, confused. “I’m sorry I just don’t understand.”
“As Officer Jones said earlier, Tina and Dakota were kidnapped a few days ago from the mall while shopping with Tina’s mother. Their electronics were wiped clean, so we have no idea who they were talking to. We were hoping Taylor could tell us if they told him anything or even saw who they were talking to. Any information would help us in the investigation in finding them.” York smiled at the family and their attorney.
Taylor looked at his parents and then the attorney who all nodded at him. “Dakota started talking to some guy named Stewart online recently. He was some college guy she supposedly met in a chat room.”
