Jude
I don’t have a student card
Sloane
Yes?? You do??
Jude
No?? I don’t??
There was no chance that the office hadn’t given them student cards. The cards gave access to so much of the school—including getting in the doors during the school day as a safety precaution—that every student had to get it on their first day.
I leaned forward on my desk and tried to tap Hudson on the shoulder, but he was just out of reach.
“Hudson,” I hissed. “Hey. Hudson.”
He glanced over his shoulder and, when he noticed me leaning forward, turned a little so he could actually see me.
“Did you get your student card when you started?” I asked.
He frowned and nodded. “Yeah, we all got them. Why?”
I gestured toward my phone on the desk, where my DMs with Jude were open. “Jude’s locked out of the school, and he’s trying to convince me he didn’t get a student card.”
Hudson grinned. “I guarantee you he’s already lost it.”
I dropped my arms on the desk hopelessly. “How? He needs it to get everywhere in the school.”
“Don’t underestimate him,” Hudson said. He spun back around to face forward again, and I sighed.
Sloane
I just asked Hudson and he said he got a student card
And by extension, so did you
Jude
Lies
Sloane
Why would he lie about that
Jude
He wants to seem more responsible than me
Sloane
Well… he is
Jude
How dare you
Sloane
