I did, it seemed.Does she know about the Queen?

No. That’s your tale to tell.

I’d rather wait until we know whether it’s true.

I think that part is a given. And it would explain much,he stated with a waggle of his brows.

I blushed.

“If you guys are discussing sex, please continue talking between yourselves,” Mari announced. “But otherwise, quit with the eye-flashing conversations.”

“Sorry, Mari,” I offered.

“Were you talking about sex?” she asked.

“Matt is always talking about sex,” I said.

She rolled her orange eyes. “I suspected so.”

“Not always,” Matt protested.

I raised a brow at him.

He grinned. “I do talk about other things. Like the fact you missed a stonkin’ great class this morning. We dangled from cliffs.”

“You dangled. I climbed,” Mari clarified.

His eyes lit. “Yeah. Strewth, can she ever climb.”

“I’m so sorry I missed that.” I tried to infuse sincerity into my voice, but by Mari’s grin, I wasn’t entirely successful.

They chattered at me while I ate, recounting the morning. Such normal, healthy talk. I clung to it with a sense of desperation, using it to keep my thoughts from straying.

He’s tough,Matt interjected into the middle of a discussion of the benefits of using chalk dust while climbing.

Talakai? Or Sebastian?

Both. The Dragon will find the Bellati. Try not to worry, Angel. He sent me a burst of something straight from his heart that lifted me high. Made me feel like anything was possible, anything at all, if he and I were together.

I hugged that concept as we moved to the coliseum and sat down forRealm History and Current Status.

Amadeus’s voice droned on and on.

Shoot me now,Matt stated. Then,I think the Valkyrie team is coming up with its own answer to the boredom.

I glanced over to Maddy’s crew, and noted that not only were their eyes flashing like mad, but both Maddy and Logan seemed unable to sit still. Their squirming had given the Dires seated behind them glowing eyes and red faces.

They might be having stonkin’ great mindsex, but they can’t hide the scents,he explained. They’re giving every Dire around them stiffies.

My lips twitched.I’m sure there’s rules about that somewhere.

There should be, but there isn’t.He offered a mental stroke that threatened to take me there too.

Two can play at that game.I envisioned my tongue trailing along his belly, moving lower and lower...

He shifted his hips on the stone bench.

Mari clouted him hard enough to rock him into me. “Cut it out,” she whispered fiercely.
