Page 86 of His Atonement
"So, I just had my will revised, hopefully for the last time because I'm pretty sure my lawyer wants to strangle me." I smirk as Zan sits on the bar stool and pulls me into his lap. "This is where you can find everything you'll need when the time comes."
I exit out of Google and show Zan how to access the secret folder that has my will, online journal, and vlog. With a double click I start with the will first.
"Ok, so you already know about the trust funds for Daisy and Lily since that was on my bucket list. Granny's house sold for just shy of eight hundred thousand dollars and Allie and I were always supposed to split that as well as what she left us in her will, but Al refused because Andrej is so well off. I split the total down the middle and put it into two accounts for the girls that they can have when they turn eighteen. They have the option to continue saving, but can either receive a monthly or yearly sum of the money to do whatever they want with, or if they wait until they turn twenty-five, they can cash in the whole thing and pay off school or buy a house or whatever."
Zan wraps his arms around me, kisses my shoulder then rests his chin there. "That is most generous, darling. I'm sure it will mean more since the money stemmed from your grandmother and was passed on by you."
I shrug. "I just didn't want it to go to waste. As for the rest of my money." I scroll down a little then click a link to my bank accounts. "This all goes to you. I wasn't really sure what to do with it before and I know you definitely don't need it, but I want you in charge of it. You can do whatever you think should be done, donate it to different charities, whatever, but it's for you to control."
"Zander Toth, eh?" He chuckles. "It looks as though I will need new human credentials."
I giggle. "They needed a name, baby, and since you can't tell me yours I figured that was the next best thing."
"My true name sounds completely made up to most and Cora will love that you've given me this name in place of it."
"Well, she is your sister, after all. She has Toth and Dragovihk creds, so it only makes sense that you share her maiden name. I also had to give them a birthdate and social security number so you better figure that out too."
“Colt will handle it.” Another kiss to my shoulder. "And how old am I, my darling mate? Perhaps a spry young thing that makes you a cougar? Or am I a silver fox?"
I snort. "Pretty sure you are the very definition ofsilver fox, Mr. Eleven-hundred-and-seventeen-with-silver-jizz, but I told my lawyer you were thirty-eight and we were getting married soon. Which is something else you'll have to ask Colt for."
"What's that?"
"A human marriage license. You'll need a driver's license, soc card, birth certificate. and our marriage license to access the money or claim anything I've left you in my will."
Zan sighs and nods again. "I will speak with him immediately. That's all simple enough for the wolf, he's done it for the rest of our clan and surely can do it for us."
"Will he ask questions?" My bank statements come up and I put them side by side with my will, which is when Zan chokes on nothing.
"You little she-devil. You did not tell me you were sitting on such a gold mine."
I roll my eyes. "Hardly, but one point five mill isn't too shabby, photography and the stock market has been good to me." I click another page from the folder. "I have a list of charities and organizations I had considered donating my money to and you can use that if you're interested. I really don't care what you do with my money, but just don't let it go to waste."
"I won't." Zan kisses my neck. "And what else have you listed in this most morbid document?"
"Thor and the cabin go to you, obviously. Cora gets the Triumph because she said Havok won't buy her a bike, and since his and yours are too big for her tiny self, she might do better with mine. Vok gets my photography equipment. Posey gets Granny's recipe box. She's always been obsessed with her secret baked goods and almost fought me for that box multiple times over the years, so that goes to her. Grace gets my vintage philosophy books, Casey gets my vinyl record collection." I sigh then close out everything but the will itself. "Allie gets the trunk in the darkroom. It was our grandpa’s army trunk and I've been keeping all the things I want her to have in it. It's mostly stuff from when I was a kid, stuff I saved from when my parents died, from Gramps and Granny, but there are two things I absolutely want to make sure she gets and it would mean a lot if you gave them to her."
Zan nods. "Anything you ask, darling, and you can consider it done."
"Thank you." I lean back and press a kiss to his temple. "The first is a photo album, a separate one that I've been working on for her since we turned twenty-one. It has tons of pictures of our dads, our grandparents, baby pictures of us. It's pretty much a visual representation of our life from the time we were born up until now and includes stuff Allie probably doesn't even realize I have. I want her to get it on her birthday."
"If I have not slipped into complete madness by then, I will make sure Allie receives your gift on January seventh."
I roll my eyes but kiss him again. "The other is this." A double tap opens my online journal and another opens my vlog. "Like I told you, I've been documenting everything since I was diagnosed and this is that. It covers the last eighteen years in detail in terms of my symptoms, treatments, good and bad days. There's a bunch of stuff from when I traveled, footage from different shoots, and Granny. It's basically everything from my life since HD and I want copies to go to research studies or doctors and shit so it hopefully helps. She doesn't have to watch it, you don't either, honestly, but there's probably stuff in there you both might want to see and at the very least, I want copies given out so maybe it can shed some light on Huntington's."
"You are extraordinary, my darling mate." Zan kisses my neck again. "Truly magnificent."
"I just don't want my life up until this point to be wasted. I'm only able to leave behind so much, and I want what little I can to be meaningful and leave an impact."
"You, my beautiful most loving creature, make an impact simply by being you." He holds me a little harder. "When shall I give Allie access to your documentation?"
"Whenever you're ready to. You have final say over everything, so it'll be up to you." I bite my lip and turn to look into those gorgeous eyes. "I have final arrangements planned out, but they may have changed some."
He arches a brow then frowns. "Do I want to discuss this?"
"I think we kind of have to. I want your customs included."
Zan nods. "So be it."
