I should step away,he told himself.This isn’t something a professor would do.

But his feet remained glued to the floor.

Storm’s slick sounds sped up. Then he made a low, choked sound full of pleasure, and arousal rushed through Linus’ body with a mind of its own.

He just came,Linus thought, his face still burning.I heard him come.

The slick sounds stopped. But the panting continued. Then Storm turned on the shower, and Linus leaned bonelessly against the door, replaying those sounds in his head.

He had never wanted an alpha this much in his life. He wasn’t sure what to do about it, though.

He must’ve lost track of time; the next thing he knew, the shower had stopped running. There came the rustle of clothing.

Vaguely, Linus realized there was something he was supposed to be doing, but he couldn’t remember what.

Then the door disappeared from under him.

Linus yelped and flailed, crashing into a strong, solid chest.

Large hands caught him. “Professor?”

When he looked up, he found Storm staring at him wide-eyed. Storm was so tall up close, a full head taller than Linus.

And he had caught Linus eavesdropping.

“I heard nothing,” Linus squeaked. “Just, um. Just the shower!” He flapped his hand to try and demonstrate what he meant, except it smacked against Storm’s warm pec. “Oh. You’re big.”

Storm watched him for a long moment. “So... You didn’t hear what I was doing in there?”

Linus’ face scorched. “Showering,” his mouth said. “Getting really wet. Oh, gods, ignore that.”

The alpha seemed to be biting down a smile, looking relieved.

Something wrapped around the small of Linus’ back. It was Storm’s arm, he realized a moment later. Storm held Linus against himself, keeping him upright.

“Are you okay?” Storm asked quietly.

“Why wouldn’t I be?” Linus blurted. Then he thought about his situation, thought really hard about it. And he realized he was pressed snug against Storm’s damp, bare chest, his own body covered by a flimsy bed sheet.

“Oh gods,” Linus yelped.

Storm immediately loosened his embrace. Maybe he was trying to give Linus a chance to escape, but Linus ducked his head and pressed closer to Storm’s chest.

It felt nice, receiving a hug.

Storm huffed and rubbed Linus’ back. “I can cook something if you’re hungry.”

Linus blinked. “But this is my apartment.”

The alpha shrugged. “Doesn’t matter. I could make you something better than leftovers, for once.”

“Leftovers...?” The dots connected; Linus’ eyes grew wide. He looked up to find Storm watching him warily. “You’rethe reason why there’s been so many leftovers. And that fresh stew when I was sick.”

Storm blushed. “I followed your recipes. I wanted to make things that you like. Well, food that you wouldn’t suspect came from someone else.”

“It doesn’t make sense. You said I helped you, but this is a lot for payback.”

“Worth it,” Storm said lightly.
