“You... shouldn’t have read that,” Duke said slowly.
“It’s so funny.” Nat wiped his eyes and started giggling again. “I can’t stop! I didn’t think you’d make a joke about the goat thing!”
Duke’s cheeks turned pink. “I thought you might appreciate it.”
“I love it!” Nat hugged the pickup line to his chest. “I would frame it on the wall. It’s proof that I’m not the only one sticking my foot into my mouth.”
Duke sighed and said dryly, “That line isn’t quite as awkward as some of yours.”
Nat gasped; Duke grimaced immediately.
“I’m sorry,” Duke said.
“No, don’t be. You were speaking the truth. I’d rather that than you lying to me.”
Duke’s lips quirked into a smile. “For what it’s worth, even though they’re awkward, I love the things you say on accident.”
Nat blushed. “Well, my words and your words can sleep together and make babies. Um. Maybe not. They would beterriblebabies. Like if I put my foot in your mouth and they had babies. Fuck. I need to stop this.”
Duke grinned. “We’ll discuss that some other time. Right now, thereissomething I need. Could you send me the signed document from the Masons real quick?”
Nat leaped to his feet. “I’m on it!”
He pulled up the files on his computer and began dealing with the high-priority tasks. Then he fed Wanda and changed her diapers, and went back to tapping on his keyboard, making sure Duke’s schedule was updated and he had everything he needed for his meetings.
“Nat,” Duke said suddenly, much closer than he expected.
Nat almost fell off his seat. “What?”
“Have you eaten?” Duke was frowning.
“Uh.” Nat looked at his stomach. It felt kind of empty. “I guess not.”
Duke pointed at Nat’s mini fridge. “Grab a few things from there. Then come into my office. Hubrie will watch Wanda.”
“Okay.” Nat watched his boss disappear into his office, his suit clinging to his body in the best of ways. He grabbed a slice of apple pie, a box of chocolate milk, and the jar of pickles.
“Already craving pickles?” Hubrie waggled his eyebrows.
“I just wanted to change things up!” Nat blushed. “It’s not like I’m definitely pregnant or anything.”
The butler coughed. “Tell Hell Master that if you want him tomake sureyou’re pregnant.”
Nat blushed and escaped into Duke’s office.
Instead of sitting behind his desk, Duke was on his couch at the side of the room. “Have a seat.”
Nat brought his food over. Duke looked approvingly at his selection.
“Eat,” Duke said.
Nat frowned. “Don’t you want me to do something for you?”
“Yes. And that is to put something in your stomach.”
“I guess ‘something’ is better than an order to put cum in my stomach.”
Nat froze. Then he groaned and smacked his forehead against his chocolate milk. “Oh, gods.”
