“By the way, it looks like you two have definitely kissed and made up,” Julia drawled, her gaze pivoting between Bailey and Adrianne.

A goofy grin took over Bailey’s face.

“He still has to make up for his mistake,” Adrianne muttered belligerently.

Charlie rolled his eyes. “You never did tell us what he did that was so wrong you hardly spoke to him for a whole year.”

Adrianne pouted.

Gold flared in Clotho’s pupils. “Oh. I must say, there was no way he could have avoided that situation.”The Moira gave Bailey a look of pity and waved a hand vaguely.“He’s only human after all. Resisting both an incubus and a succubus’s seduction would have been impossible.”

Charlie’s eyes rounded.

Julia sighed. The angel apparently already knew the reason Adrianne had been giving Bailey the cold shoulder.

Cassius scratched the tip of his nose and tried hard not to laugh. “So, er, that’s why you were mad at him?”

Adrianne glowered. “They hired a hotel suite for an entire week. His dick was—”

Cedric cursed and clamped his hands over Eden’s ears again.

“—bone dry by the time they finished with him!” the sorceress said in an aggrieved tone. “Andthey left hickeys all over his body. Those took months to fade!”

Bailey looked slightly abashed at that.

Tenebra was staring admiringly into her glass. “What’s this drink called again?”

“It’s absinthe,” Brianna replied with a frown. “You shouldn’t be drinking it neat.”

The color drained a little from her face when she got a whiff of the strong alcohol.

Eden peeled her annoyed fiancé’s hands from her head.

“You okay, mom?” she asked quizzically.

“Yeah.” Brianna sipped her ginger ale. “I’m just a bit queasy.”

Orena brightened. “You know, the Nereids have a wonderful herbal tea that can cure pregnancy sickness.”

Eden’s jaw dropped open. Cedric’s eyes bulged. Atropos sighed.

A glass smashed close by. It was one of the Hexa agents who’d been eavesdropping on their conversation with a gang of Argonaut and Cabalista operatives.

Brianna narrowed her eyes at the wizard as he fumbled for the broken pieces on the floor. The guy flushed when he sensed her laser-like stare.

“That’s great to know,” she ground out at Orena.

The Goddess beamed. “You’re welcome.”

“I don’t think she meant that as a compli—” Kes started with a grimace.

Clotho stabbed her elbow in the Black Fate’s ribs. “Read the room!”

Eden closed her mouth. “You—you’re pregnant?!”

Brianna winced at her squeal. “Keep your voice down, Eden.” The witch’s expression grew uncertain. “Are you upset?”

Eden shook her head, her eyes gleaming. “No! Not at all. I’m—I’m happy for you and Malik!”
