Theo looked worriedly from the shot glass the second Black Fate kept trying to push into his hand to where Alecto was trailing a crimson nail down his chest. “Hmm.”
The eldest Fury beamed at the demigod.
“Why so shy, Theophile?” Alecto breathed sultrily in his ear while she traced lazy circles on his shirt.
A shiver of apprehension shook Theo. He froze when Alecto dropped her fingers to his thigh and squeezed.
Atropos was sipping her drink glumly. From her resigned expression, Cassius gathered she’d given up trying to stop her sisters from seducing the young demigod.
“Jesus, get a room,” Brianna murmured.
Her disapproving expression was matched by Cedric’s. Eden, on the other hand, looked like she was taking notes from the Goddesses’ book on seduction.
“How about you let him go before Victor comes back?” Cassius said lightly. He slipped in next to Theo and carefully lifted Alecto’s hand from the demigod’s leg. “Suzie will banish us if anything happens to her bar.”
“Thanks,” Theo whispered gratefully while Alecto pouted.
“Let’s not tell Victor what happened,” Cassius murmured.
Theo’s eyes glazed over a little. “Yeah, let’s not.”
“I knew it would be you guys,” someone said irritably.
Cassius looked up to find Jasper and Reuben standing by their booth.
The demon was frowning. “We were wondering why we couldn’t get through the front door. We should have known it’s because you broughtthemhere.”
He pointed an accusing finger at the Goddesses. Eyes narrowed around the table.
“Why, if it isn’t little Engrar,” Tisiphone said acerbically.
Jasper lowered his brows further at the Fury. “I don’t go by that title anymore. And there’s nothinglittleabout me.”
Adrianne lifted a hand, her flushed cheeks a sign she was well on her way to getting stone drunk. “I can vouch for that. Charlie can barely walk some mornings.” She squinted at Reuben. “Or maybe it’s the angel who’s got the bigger—”
Bailey muffled the rest of the sorceress’s words with his hand while Orena cast a puzzled look at the scowling enchanter.
“Engrar?” Theo whispered to Cassius.
“It’s Jasper’s true name,” Cassius murmured.
Julia blinked. “Oh, yeah. I’d forgotten.”
Megaera’s shrewd gaze shifted from Jasper to Reuben. “I see you finally tamed the wild beast, Inias.”
Reuben gave her a brittle smile.
Jasper looked suspiciously from the Goddess to his lover. “What does she mean by that?”
Reuben maintained a diplomatic silence and leaned down to drop a kiss on Charlie’s head. “We’ll see you later.”
Charlie’s frown vanished. He smiled warmly at the angel. “Okay.”
Kes choked on her cocktail.
“Wait! Those two and this kid are—?!” she spluttered, her horrified gaze swinging from Jasper and Reuben’s departing figures to Charlie.
“Try to keep up, Kes,” Tenebra murmured.
