Every time Cassius floundered, every time his consciousness flickered, Morgan brought him right back to the moment with a sensuous roll of his hips.
They fell asleep to the sun blazing brightly in the sky, their arms wrapped around one another where they’d collapsed on the bed, Morgan buried deep inside Cassius.
EPILOGUE
Suzie leanedacross the bar and beckoned Cassius closer.
“Who the hell are the hot chicks at your table?!” she asked in a conspiratorial tone.
Cassius glanced warily in the direction she indicated before peeking at Zach where he was helping theOccultabartenders serve the busy Friday-night crowd.
“He didn’t tell you?”
Suzie shot a suspicious look at her demon boyfriend. “No, he did not.”
Zach sensed their stares and looked over.
“What?” he mouthed with a shrug.
“By the way, are you paying him?” Julia cocked a wary thumb at the Argonaut agent. “All he seems to do when he comes here is serve drinks.”
Suzie arched an eyebrow. “Of course I pay him.” A saucy smile stretched her lips. “With my body. I take him upstairs after we close up and I—”
Cedric cursed and clamped his hands over Eden’s ears.
“Come, Eden,” he growled.
He grabbed her soda and two bottles of ginger ale and dragged her away from the bar.
“What?” Eden said, confused. She looked over her shoulder at Suzie, her expression clearing. “She was talking aboutsex, wasn’t she?”
She tilted her head at the scowling Dryad, her eyes sparkling with avid interest.
Suzie pursed her lips as she watched them leave. “Isn’t it about time those two popped each other’s cherry?”
Julia shuddered. “Don’t let Brianna hear you say that. She’ll ground Eden for life.”
Cassius sighed. Julia was right. The road ahead for Cedric was not going to be easy.
Charlie came over and grabbed some of the cocktails they’d ordered.
“You better come back and save Theo,” the enchanter told Cassius briskly.
Cassius straightened. “Why?”
Charlie made a face. “Victor went out to take a call and…well, just go over there.”
Cassius and Julia headed after him once they’d collected the remaining drinks. It proved hard to get to their booth with the mob ofOccultaonlookers openly ogling the nine drop-dead-gorgeous figures seated at the table.
The Goddesses’ hair and skin practically glowed under the muted lighting. They wore vivid sequin tops hinting at their voluptuous curves and skin-tight velour pants with matching stilettos that highlighted their long legs. The gems sparkling in their ears and at their throats and wrists looked like they averaged the gross domestic product of a small nation, while their perfect, make-up-free complexions made it seem like they had expensive cosmetics on.
Julia and Adrianne had taken them shopping the day before. By the looks of the Goddesses’ clothes, the angel and the sorceress had gone to the top-end places in the city.
“I hope they didn’t use Morgan’s credit card,” Cassius had muttered to Loki when he’d seen the labels on their shopping bags.
The imp had sniggered.
“Come, drink, Theophile,” Kes was telling Theo imperiously where she pressed up against his side.
