“Is there a dress code for tomorrow?” I looked at him, and then it dawned on me that our only clothes were tuxedos. He was going to make sure we had something to wear. He couldn’t help but take care of me. How lucky does that make me?

“Preferably we wear clothes otherwise nothing specific. There was that one time Forest showed up in an actual penguin suit.”

“I want to look nice for the rest of your family, making a good impression. I want them to like me.” I couldn’t help but snort.

“I think they like you better than me if we are judging from the feedback on my phone. I haven’t read everything, but they’ll probably keep you and dump me if we break up.”

“I always wanted a big family. Plus, they can cook.” Being adopted by his family sounded like a good deal to me.

I punched him in the arm. “You can’t have my family.”

He set his phone down. “Then you better keep me happy.” He wiggled his eyebrows at me. “We are all set to stay here until we leave for dinner tomorrow evening.” He rolled over on top of me and pinned me to the mattress. “Now, let me show you how I can make you happy.” He started sucking on my neck. I was going to go to Sundaydinner with hickeys like I was a horny teenager. For the first time, though, I will have a guest with me, which I think will overshadow any marks he leaves.

We made love several more times throughout the night. I was sure that was what we were doing. What was happening with our bodies was more than just fucking we were connecting. It seemed we could not satiate our needs, waking each other up and fulfilling our lust. I couldn’t believe that this weekend had happened. So many things that I never thought would be part of my life were now things I craved.

I lay in Aaron's arms, recovering. His head was on my chest, his fingers running up and down my stomach. I played with his hair. I was genuinely happy, I was… I opened my eyes wide as something struck me. I was falling for him. I wanted this forever. I didn’t know how this happened, but my heart had chosen, and I was just along for the ride.

Chapter twenty-six

Aaron

We got out of bed around noon on Sunday. Everything about this weekend was perfect. There were many things I wanted to do with River. I walked into the living room and found him looking out the window to the city below. I came up behind him and wrapped my arms around his torso, resting my chin on his shoulder. “See anything good?”

“I can see four of your buildings from here. That blows my mind.”

I chuckled. “I’ve been doing something wrong the last two days if that’s what blows your mind.”

“You know what I mean. You are an imposing man, Mr. Gentry. I mean that in all the ways. This weekend has been fantastic. I will take more weekends off if it means time with you.”

I kissed the back of his neck. “I am going to arrange that. I might have to hire someone to cover weekends because I’m all in spending them with you.”

“Let’s watch a movie. We have four hours before we need to leave.”

“Sounds good to me.” I took his hand, and we sat on the couch. “Daisy, come here.” She flew over. I threw a paper ball, and she flew over, picked it up, and returned it. After about five throws, she returned and landed on the back of the couch, not giving it back. “She’s done with fetch.” I tapped my thigh, and she jumped onto my lap, then curled up on my legs. I settled back and looked over at River. Hishead was back, and his feet were on the table, crossed at the ankle. He was sitting forward on the cushions, so the pajamas rode low on his hip, hands on his lap, fingers threaded together. His torso was on full display. Over the last couple of days, I covered as much of it as possible with my tongue. The man was beautiful on the outside. On the inside, he was gorgeous.

He was awkward and anxious. How he interacted with Charlie melted my heart, and how he took the teasing from his family but still included them in his life was a sign that he was a good person. I was feeling all kinds of things. Just looking at him makes my heart beat harder. I want to sit with him and watch TV, play with the dragons, or talk about everything and nothing.

I never felt any of that with Stephen. I was content, and it was nice to have someone around, but I didn’t long to be with him. I just wanted to be in the same space as River because it made me feel good.

I slid across the couch, putting my head on his lap. Yeah, I was that guy now. I lay on the sofa and put my head on my boyfriend’s lap. He unconsciously played with my hair while we watched a movie. I got up when the clothes arrived. When I returned to the couch, he was sitting across the cushions. I lifted his legs and put them across my thighs, rubbing his calves and feet. I was also now the guy that did this, too. I was okay with all of it because I was falling hard.

“I suppose we should get ready to go.”

“Yeah. I can’t lie, though. I’ve had the best weekend of my life.” He smiled at me and kissed me.

There were pairs of jeans for us both. We picked out what to wear, shoving the others in the bags to take home.

“Hey, River, can we wear these?” I held up a shirt that said, ‘I’m with sexy.’ I threw the other shirt at him. He opened it up. It said, ‘I’m sexy’ on it.

“You want to, don’t you?” I nodded my head up and down fast.

“I do.” I flutter my lashes at him. “Please.”

“You know my brothers will tease us mercilessly?”

“I don’t know. As far as I can tell, your family likes me. You might be on your own.” I pulled him in for a nuzzle.

“How about we wear them next week?” He grinned. “Okay, I am good with that.”
