“Thank you for all of this. I didn’t know how much I was missing until you came and filled in those parts.” I said these things against his neck.
His arms drew me closer. “I believe you just vocalized exactly how I was feeling. Thank you for being here with me.”
I didn’t know how long we stood there embracing. There was a knock on the door. I kissed soft, full lips and went to answer it.
I came back with four bags of food and a pizza box. “I got us dinner.”
“I see that. How much did you plan for us to eat?”
“We are grown men doing a lot of exercise and need the energy.” We both laughed.
I pulled out the food I had ordered. There were two twenty-packs of chicken nuggets with all the sauces and pepperoni pizza. I got some fast-food tacos and, finally, some milkshakes, one Heath Bar, and one peanut butter cup. There was also a bag from Delizioso with steamed veggies and steak.
I set it all out on the coffee table and gave Aaron a ridiculous grin. “Dinner is served.”
“You eat like a thirteen-year-old. I still don’t know how you keep that incredible body eating this stuff.”
“Lots of working out,” I told him.
“You have a trainer? Work out, partner?” he asked me while shoving a spoonful of ice cream in his mouth.
“Nah, I just go do it. I wouldn’t mind a partner if the right one applied.” I liked the idea of showing him off at my gym. He looked terrific, and I could snarl at the men and women that looked at him.
“Consider the application submitted.”
“I can hire you on the spot, so you’re in. I looked forward to it. We can check out both gyms and see if we want to go to one or alternate.”
“Sounds great.” Now, let’s eat. “I love that you just enjoy food. Someone stopped me from doing that for a long time, but that won’t happen again. Plus, now I have someone to show me how to keep fit and eat shit.”
He stole one of my nuggets and dunked it in some honey mustard.
“Sir, you have twenty nugs of your own.”
“I have twenty-one now.” He kissed me and reached for a piece of pizza.
We ate a lot of food, sharing the blizzards and giving Daisy and Charlie their dinner. We put the trash in a tidy pile and set it in the kitchenette. Aaron went into the room and came back with his wallet. He wrote a noteon the pad by the phone and ripped it off, then placed two one-hundred-dollar bills down.
Thank you for your hard work. The tip is for housekeeping. – Aaron and River
He was a good man. He cared about people and appreciated those that did for him. Gary had mentioned the meal he had given him the other day. That was unnecessary, but it screams what type of man he is.
Let’s go into the bedroom, he picked up the dragon carrier and took my hand.
“We’re going to bed, Daisy, Charlie.” They flew in and landed on the bed. He set down the box, and they both crawled in. The scuffling you always heard took place, and then it was quiet. He moved the carrier’s window ninety degrees. “Let’s not corrupt the children by having them stare right at the bed.”
I laughed. “I am going to get naked. You do what you want.” I pulled off my pajama pants and climbed under the covers.
“I think that is a fantastic idea.” He stripped down. I didn’t think I would ever get tired of admiring him. He joined me under the covers, then slid close so our hips and shoulders touched. He lazily put a leg over my thigh. I recognized we both did this like it was a claiming move.
He grabbed his phone. “What time do we have to be at dinner tomorrow? Can the dragons come?”
“I usually like to go around 4:30 or 5 p.m. It’s a whole thing every week. We eat around 8 p.m. The dragons can come. My familywill be beside themselves. All of them have wanted to have a dragon of their own.”
“Well, I don’t think I would have enjoyed mentoring one of them as much as I am enjoying mentoring you.”
“Yeah? If it were Stone, he is bi, and you could have had a chance at that.” He looked at me and shook his head.
“I have the Barallo I want, thank you very much.” He kissed me without a rush. Our tongues played languidly. He returned to his phone and asked me what size my pants and shirts were. We were both fit, but our bodies were different. I told him the information he wanted.
